Scorpina & Devil's Child
Chapter 1-Scorpina
It felt odd being in the WWF again. And yes, I have been here before. I'm Scorpina, I was known as a bride of Kane when I was 14 years old. Kane took me into his home when I was 14; he was in love with a woman named Storm. But since she lost her memory, she began to have feeling towards another. His name is Vampiro. So the entire brides of Kane broke way, we all went our separate ways. When I was 17, I saw Kane and Undertaker in a match. They both got hit in the head with a chair. And hard too. When I met up with Kane and Undertaker again, they didn't recognize me. Kane wasn't wearing his mask, and his scar was cover up. He told me to call him Glenn Jacobs. When I tried taking to Undertaker, he told me to call him Mark Callaway. They weren't Kane and Undertaker anymore. After finishing college, I got my degree in sign language. And I went to the WWF HQ. I was allowed to meet Vincent K McMahon himself. I walked into his office.
"Mr. McMahon?" I asked as I walked in. Vince dropped what he was doing and looked at me. "Well I'll be...Scorpina? Look at you!" he laughed. He stood up and looked me over; I was 6’6, and had my long hair braided into a ponytail. I wore sunglasses since I had no eyes. "You sure grew up fast, how are you?" he asked. "I want to join the WWF Vince. I want to help Kane and Undertaker get their memory back!" I said. Vince shot an odd look at me. "Get their memory back? How will you do that?" he asked. Vince knew Kane and Undertaker weren't acting like themselves. And Vince is a sorcerer himself! "I think if I spent enough time with Kane and Taker, I can make sure their memories come back! If I take Kane to his favorite places, it should trigger something." I explained. Vince thought about it. He went to his desk and pulled out some papers.
"You start Monday. You stick with your name Scorpina, you are gonna be Kane's new girlfriend!" Vince smirked, and I hugged him. "Thank you McMahon!" I laughed. I signed the contract, and left his office. "Scorpina!" he called. I turned to face Vince. "Mark is dating this girl you should be aware of. She goes by the name of Devil's Child. She's very...how should I put it..." "Interesting?" I asked. "Whatever! But she is very protective..." "Of who? Taker or herself?" I asked. "Both, she doesn't lighten up to men easily. Not like you'll have a problem since you are a woman. But I just thought I would warn you now." Vince replied, and I nodded. I decided to meet this 'Devil's Child' for myself. How bad could she be? After all that, I had been through as a teenager.... She shouldn't be that interesting to meet.... Or could she? Now I can't wait to meet her!
Chapter 2-DC
The week passed quickly, and before I knew it, I was walking into another arena. I had talked to Vince a few days earlier, and he told me to meet him in a conference room so that Mark, Glenn, and I could be ‘introduced’ to someone new. At the moment, all I could think about was pummeling another helpless newbie, my way of not only welcoming them, but to make sure they would never ask for me for friendship, or anything at that.
I had my eyes on my schedule, trying to figure out when the best time would be for me to relax alone a bit, as I made my way to the conference room Vince had specified. Suddenly, when I turned the corner, someone wasn’t watching were they were going, and they collided into me. Both of us fell to the floor.
“Watch it, bitch!” I shouted as I reached for my schedule. I looked up to see a woman sitting on the floor, in amazement that she ended up there, then got herself up. Her hair was longer than mine, but mine was nearly jet-black, and it sat in a half-tail, while the other woman’s was in a braid. Her eyes were covered up by sunglasses, which hid who she was. ‘What’s with the rift-raff?’ I thought to myself as I got up. There wasn’t much of a height difference; this other woman was a few inches taller than me, though. It wouldn’t detour me from giving her a verbal lashing.
“They just let anybody into these arenas now, don’t they?” I said aloud to myself.
“I’m-I’m sorry,” the woman apologized, then got angry. “Wait, why should I be apologizing? You’re the one who wasn’t watching were you were going!”
I gave her a sharp, evil glare, and retaliated, “Excuse me, but I don’t apologize to such ring rats as yourself. I have a respectable position back here. Now, get out of my way!” I pushed roughly past the woman.
As I left, all I could think of is how some people don’t look were they go. “Damn people,” I said under my breath. “When will anyone learn to look before moving?” I walked into the specified conference room, and found Mark and Glenn already present, with Vince at the head of the conference table. “Glad you could join us, DC,” Vince said, and motioned me to sit down. I sat in-between Mark and Glenn
“So, where’s this newbie?” I asked, leaning back in the chair leisurely.
“She’ll be here in a few minutes,” Vince replied.
A few minutes later, the door opened. “Ah, and here’s the newest addition, Scorpina!” Vince said as he stood up, motioning toward the door.
Mark, Glenn, and I stood, and turned to look at where Vince motioned. I had an evil-intentioned smile upon her lips, but when my cold, hard, hazel eyes settled on a familiar figure, the smirk dropped right off my face. “Oh, no!” I uttered. “Not you!”
Chapter 3-Scorpina
I stared at the woman who ran into me earlier. Boy, she looked P.O'ed! But when I saw Kane, I forgot about her. "This is your new girlfriend Kane!" Vince smirked. "Hi, I'm Glenn...Have we met before?" Kane asked. "Yes, we have. Don't worry, you'll remember soon enough" I replied. The woman's eyes flared at me. "What's with the sunglasses?" The woman demanded. "Well, if you must know...." I took my sunglasses off, and looked at the woman eye to eye. I have no eyes. But I can still see that she looked rather disturbed by my eyes. "A BLIND WOMAN IS GONNA WRESTLE!" She demanded. "She's not blind! Just different...." Taker spoke up, but that sounded like the Undertaker I knew and loved! He looked rather shocked himself.
"Ok, now, tonight. Scorpina you will be feuding with DC here." said Vince. "DC?" I asked. "I'm Devil's Child." she replied with venom in her voice. Well 2 can play that game! "As you know I'm Scorpina and I can see how you ended up with a name like Devil's Child!" I shot back. She didn't look phased. "At least I'm not named after so dumb bug!" The argument went back and forth. Kane, Taker, and Vince kept moving from left to right as we argued. "Vince, are you sure this is a good idea?" Kane asked. "I know it is. See how well that can argue, that's how we start a cat fight here!" Vince laughed. I stopped for a moment. "McMahon, one thing. I don't want to feud with woman, I want challenges!" I said angrily. I'm still pumped up from the argument. "What? I'm not good enough for you?" DC demanded.
"Well, I don't like being called that name in the hall way!" I yelled. "What? Bit..." "YES, that name. I hate it!" "Get used to it!" Devil's Child shot back. "Why didn't you swear?" she asked. "She's a non-swearer" Kane spoke up; he looked shocked at what he said. "You don't swear!" DC demanded. I nodded. "I'll make a bet with you. If I can tell your past by your eyes, you don't swear at me. Deal?" I asked, she smirked and nodded. "Deal"
Chapter 4-DC
I sat back down, and leaned forward, my elbows resting on my knees. She sat before me in the same manner. Her intense stare with no eyes into my own began to get under my skin, and I almost stood up, except she started talking.
“Childhood was a big disappointment to you,” Scorpina began, and I shuddered at the mention of it. “Beaten by every man your mother brought home; she was a prostitute, so it made sense, and she was the one that you picked up your swearing habit from. By the time you were nine, you were being pimped out to get money to pay bills. It was horrible for you, and you ran away.
“Days, maybe a week after you left home, you crossed the state line, and were found on the side of the road. You were taken into an orphanage, but every time you were placed in a home, you ran away. When you were twelve, you ran away, but this time, you ran to the other coast. There, you got access to some weaponry, and began a crime spree, holding up some banks, and wounding people. Once you were caught, you pleaded insanity, and ended up staying in a mental institution for seven years, which were the happiest seven years of your life.
“Then, they released you, claiming that you were cured. From that day, you’ve mostly been on the good side of the law, except when you got into numerous gang wars, nearly killing a few people. By your 21st birthday, you had acquired enough money to enter a wrestling school, went on an Indy fed, and got yourself noticed by a WWF scout. Within months, you were hired on, got involved with a few people, and now are comfortably set in the roster of the federation. Oh, and you hate letting anyone close to you, which surprises people when they hear that you and Mark here are together, although it’s not like that. It’s more of him giving, and him not receiving anything in return.”
When she finished, my mouth fell open. She had nailed most of everything that had happened in the past, but she also had omitted a few things, which in a sense I was glad for. Once I regained my composure somewhat, I looked up at Vince, Glenn, and Mark. Their looks showed pure shock, horror, and fear. I looked back at this new woman, whom had leaned back in her chair, a smile of conquer plastered on her face. “So, I win the deal,” she simply stated.
I shake my head violently, and stuttered out, “I-I-I was crossing my fingers, so it doesn’t count.”
“A deal’s a deal,” Vince replied. “I can’t believe you never told any of us that.”
“And so truly at that,” Mark commented, a look of pain crossed his face as he said it.
I could only look down to the floor, and take many deep breaths to control my raging anger. Anger control had slipped a long time ago, and it was almost uncontrollable now. I looked up again to see Scorpina place her sunglasses over the area where her eyes should have been. She stood up, shook hands with the guys, and said, “Thanks for the meeting, all. I should get ready for tonight.” She walked out, closing the door behind her.
I stared at the door for a long minute before I felt a pair of hands on my shoulders. “Girl, you should have told us a while ago,” Mark says quietly.
I shrugged of his hands violently, and ran out of the conference room. I stopped a backstage hand, and demanded he tell me where Scorpina had gone. He told me, and I hurried to catch up to her. “Something’s up,” I told myself. “I’ve got to find out.”
I nearly ran into her when I turned the corner too fast, and jumped back to peek out at her. She stood in the hallway, talking with a few other people; people she must have known. I narrowed my eyes, and strained my ears to hear their conversation, but I couldn’t hear anything. “Damn bitch, I know she’s got something,” I muttered under my breath. “Bet she did some research on me.” I walked away, feeling my control being lost in the thick of it all.
Chapter 5-Scorpina
After leaving the conference room, I ran into some of the old guards. Triple H and Stone Cold were talking in the halls. I pulled off my dragon ring the guards gave me for my 16th birthday. "Gentlemen?" I asked, they stopped and stared at me. "Do we know you?" asked Triple H. "You will soon enough" I put the ring in between Hunter and Austin, a odd glow came off of the ring. Hunter and Austin held their heads in pain. 5 minutes later, they stared at me. "Scorpina? Is that you? LOOK AT YOU!" yelled Triple H. He hugged me. "Oh Hemsley, it's good to see you again! Austin, glad to see you too" I laughed. "Man, what happened?" Steve asked. "Kane and Undertaker lost their memory after being hit with metal chairs, they have forgotten about the mansion. When they lost their memories of the mansion, so did the guards. I came to help get Kane and Undertaker back" I explained.
"In that case, let me help you!" said Triple H. I paused for a moment. "What is it?" he asked. "We are being watched,” I whispered. Hunter tried to see who was spying on us. But couldn't see. "So, what do we do now?" Steve asked. "Get the guards back, and then we will all have to work together and jog Kane and Taker's memory. Ok?" I asked, and they nodded. I left the arena and went to a burger joint to get something to eat, I wasn't expecting company. I was eating a double combo when Devil's Child walked in and sat next to me. "I'm guessing you aren't here to join me for lunch?" I asked. "What did you do to Triple H and Stone Cold?!" she demanded. I took a bite of my burger and swallowed. "That's none of your concern" I replied. "How dare you embarrass me in front of Vince and Mark like that!" "Look, you brought that upon yourself Girl! I just took you up on the bet! Look, I'm sorry about that ok. I know how you feel about not fitting in!" I explained. "How could you? You had a normal life!" she shot back. If she only knew.
"You want to know what my childhood was like! I'll tell you. Day in and day out, I was made fun of. I had no friends. I got beat up by my classmates every day. The teacher let that happen without thinking that I could be hurt. I was very different from the rest of you! You don't know me!" I replied with venom in my voice, she looked unimpressed. "Why were you so different?" she asked with a smirk on her face, she thought I was lying about something. I looked outside. "See that parking meter?" I asked, and she nodded. I pointed my hand towards the meter, and bright flash left my hand and the meter was melted. She looked on in disbelief. "What did you do?!" she demanded. "I showed you a fraction of the power possessed by Mark, well. I knew him as the Undertaker. There is more to them than meets the eye. And you will find out. Same with the guys in the back, there's more to them too. You just need to look harder" I replied.
"What the hell are you?" she whispered. I smiled. "That is a tale for another time" I finished my meal and left. When I left the restaurant, I left Devil's Child in the dark.
Chapter 6-DC
Scorpina walked out the door as I just sat there, totally amazed, embarrassed, and to an extent intrigued. For a few minutes, I sat in the booth, wondering what else this new woman could possibly do. ‘Will she ruin what I’ve done for myself?’ I thought. ‘Will she take away everything I’ve worked so hard for?’
Someone who works at the joint walked up to me, and asked, “Did you want something, miss?”
“No,” I replied harshly, and stormed out. Quickly, I returned to the arena, and hoped that Scorpina wasn’t around yet. As I entered the arena, I began to wonder if she knew who kept my emotions in check. ‘Will she take him from me, too?’
I turned a corner, and bumped into Hunter and Steve. “This is the second time today!” I said through my teeth.
“Glad to see you, too,” Steve said, then elbowed Hunter in the ribs. “Come on, we’ve got a meeting to attend.”
Both men pushed past me. “Say excuse me the next time, damn you!” I shouted after them.
Hunter suddenly turned, and shouted back, “We will when you turn into a woman!”
I screamed out, and began stomping to my dressing room. “Damn that woman,” I grumbled to myself. “She’s turning everyone against me!” I opened the door to my room, stepped in, and spied Mark sitting in the chair in the corner. “Hello.”
“Don’t ‘hello’ me like that right now,” he said rather calmly, considering I could feel his anger. “Close the door.” I did as he told me. “Why didn’t you tell me anything of your past? Even as bad as it was, you could have told me, and I would have understood you better.”
I leaned against the door, folded my arms, and replied with ire, “My past is just that, mine and in the past. I hate to bring it up, okay?” I looked from him to the floor. “Besides, I didn’t think you needed to be bothered by it. You have enough to deal with.”
I heard him take a deep sigh, and looked back up at him. “I’ve been rethinking our relationship, DC,” he said slowly, then looked up into my eyes. “If you can’t trust me with anything, can’t even give back a small percentage of the affection I’ve shown you in the past few months, then what’s the point?” I swallowed hard at what I thought he’d say next. “I think it’d be best if we broke it off.”
I shook my head, and said, “No, no, we can’t.” He stood up, and moved toward the door and me. “No, Mark, I promise, I-I’ll learn to trust.”
Mark shook his head, and replied, “It’s too late now, DC. I’ve been walked over enough for one relationship.” He pushed me harshly away from the door, and opened it.
“Please, Mark, don’t leave me!” I shouted as he walked out. I ran to the door just as it shut, banged my fists on it, and a couple of burning hot tears slid down my face. “You can’t walk away from me. Not when you’re the only one that can control…” I trailed off as I slid to the floor, more hot tears coming down my cheeks, the first real cry I’d had in the longest time.
Chapter 7-Scorpina
I sat in my locker room getting ready for my match, I heard a sudden banging on my door. I opened it and DC stood there in silent. "DC, Why..." Before I could finish, I tasted a knuckle sandwich! "You did this! You told Mark to break up with me!" she yelled, she kicked me in the ribs since I was down. "You will not get in my way again. Powers or no powers" she stormed out of the room, I was gasping for breath. Fortunately, I heal quickly. Chris Benoit walked by, she saw me down. He helped me up. "What did you do, slip?" he laughed, and my ring was glowing. Benoit grabbed his head in pain. "AAAHHHH! Scorpina.... Scorpina.... What happened?" he asked. "Do you remember me Crippler?" I asked, and he looked at me. "Yeah, I do. Scorpina, what happened to us? I can't remember much,” he asked. "Kane and Taker lost their memory. So did all of the guards. I'm gonna make sure they get their memory back. But DC is giving me some problems" I explained. "So I see, well...You can get your revenge in the ring tonight." he laughed.
"But Crippler, I know she is hurting inside.... She would have been a bride of Kane if she let her heart lead her" I whispered. "No, not likely.... How long have I been like this?" he asked. "What? Your human form?" I asked, and he nodded. "Oh.... about 6 months" I replied, Benoit looked shocked. "Man, I nearly forgot that I was a Constrictor! Shesh, I use the flying head butt one too many times!" he laughed. I smiled. "See you later Benoit" I replied. Chris left. I got my wrestling stuff ready. But I needed to get Kane's memory back, and I just knew how. Kane's one weakness when I was 16 was chocolate cake. I went to the fridge and pulled out a black forest cake. I went to one of the kitchens in the arena and had a small piece. Kane did walk in; he stared at the cake for the longest time. "What some?" I asked, and he shook his head. "Gotta watch my figure..." he replied. “Figure smigur, come on! You’ll work it off!" I shot back.
Kane got a fork. "Ok, one taste" He had a small taste, than another and another.... till the cake was all gone! "That was good. I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" he muttered. I smirked. "Part one complete" I whispered to myself, just as DC walked by. She looked at Kane. "What did you eat?" she asked. "An entire black forest cake Scorpina got, sorry did you want some?" Kane asked. She had an ill look on her face. "I wouldn't touch anything she gives me! I wouldn't want to touch her at all!" DC spat near my feet, well. I can forget about making friends with her!
Chapter 8-DC
I ran as far as I could, just to get away from that woman. I didn’t remember leaving my dressing room to go to her’s, but when I stormed away, I returned to consciousness, in a sense. It was like my body was in control, not me.
I sat down on a chair in the back of the arena, and placed my head in my hands. Before Mark, it was always like this; my body was in control, like something had possessed me, and I’d only return to my senses after something bad had happened, usually when I’d beaten someone senseless. It was strange, and I tried everything to control it, but it was impossible. Then, Mark came into my life, and the control came. I was not as violent, ruthless, and cruel as I had been. I began to enjoy the control I had over myself.
“Scorpina walks in, and it all goes to hell,” I said to myself. Anger began to rise in my veins. I began to beat the back of my head into the brick wall behind me to stop it. “No, this is something I’ve got to deal with on my own. It’s something that every woman goes through, right?”
Glenn walked up, and stopped in front of me. “So, DC, what’s up?” he asked good-naturedly. “I was concerned when you ran away a few minutes ago.”
“Would you just leave me alone?” I asked with a touch of anger. “I-I-I need to be alone.”
Glenn crossed his arms in front of his chest, and replied, “That’s what everyone says when they break-up with someone.”
I evilly stared up at him. “You know? Who told you?” I shouted. “Was it that bitch?” I was losing control again.
“I know, but that’s all I’m gonna tell you,” he answered. “If you don’t learn to accept Scorpina, the storyline’s not gonna fly all too well.”
I stood up, and with venom spat back, “I don’t need anyone! I can make it just fine on my own! Just leave me the hell alone!” I began to storm away, but spun back around on my heels. “Hey, Glenn! Tell Mark to go fuck himself, and tell the Witch Bitch to go watch him, ‘cause that’s as close as she could ever come!”
I turned back around, and continued to storm to my dressing room. “Fuck the match,” I said as I picked up my bag. “I’m outta here.” I slammed the door to the room closed as I left. I power walked myself to the garage, where a limo awaited me. I stepped into the vehicle, and directed the driver to take me to my hotel room. As the limo began to move, I could only think of angered revenge.
Chapter 9-Scorpina
As Raw started, I was looking for DC. I ran into Kane. "Kane, where's DC?" I asked. "She left, she was very P.O'ed, and will you stop calling me Kane all the time! Shesh, you know my name is Glenn!" he demanded, he walked away. "Scorpina!" called Vince. I turned to face McMahon. "Apparently, this story line isn’t gonna work a little too well for you and DC. I've called it off. You will be feuding with Triple H till I can find out what's with DC" he explained. "Vince, thank you" I replied. I walked throughout the arena, and on my way around, I brought back the memory of all of the guards. Rock, Chyna, D-X, Test, The Acolytes, Edge, Christian, Matt and Jeff Hardy and Gangrel. Now I need to get Mark...I mean Undertaker's memory back. Now that DC is out of the way.
I went to Mark's locker room; I knocked on the door first. "Mark?" I called. I slowly opened the door. He was facing a corner, and was silent. "Did you get in trouble or something?" I laughed. "Not now Scorpina..." he replied. I pulled out my Scorpion necklace; it was glowing oddly. And I put it on Taker's back. "Now remember!" I whispered. He was moaning in pain, and his eyes began to glow. I then saw DC walk back in. "Mark, I was thinking..." she stopped to see me; I had put my hand over the scorpion necklace that was on his back. "You! You are feeding off of this! You are the one ruining my life!" DC ran at me and knocked me down, I was still holding on to the necklace. But Taker hadn't lost the glow in his voice. "Scorpina! I feel like my old self again!" he yelled. He picked DC off of me. I had a cut lip. She looked in Taker's eyes. "Mark...What has she done to you?" she asked.
Chapter 10-DC
It was frightening, to say the least. I couldn’t understand what exactly it was that was frightening, but it was. “She’s using some sorta wacked-out power on you, ain’t she?” I asked, pointedly glaring at Scorpina. Control was slipping, and the anger was growing so great, all I could feel was static in my head. I had put my hand on my temple, but that did nothing to help.
“Not hardly,” came Mark’s reply, “and I am not Mark. I am the Undertaker. Can you say that?”
Scorpina laughed, and I stood, glaring at her, then turned back to Mark, refusing to think of him as his character. “I always suspected something like this,” I said to them, then held up my hands, palm out. “I’m not stupid, you know. I would’ve found out soon enough.” I looked from Mark to Scorpina, and back again, the static growing in intensity. “Right now, I-I can’t deal with this…” Again, I massaged my temple, relieving no pressure. “I’ve-I’ve got to go.” Immediately, I turned, and left the room, running to get to the garage.
I went to the limo again, and this time, made sure I got to the hotel room. With no one around me, I laid on my back on the bed, my eyes tearing from the pain, the static, and the control that I was losing. The control only I could have when I was with Mark…”Damn, girl,” I said to myself, wiping my eyes, “you sound so damn lovesick.” I rolled over to my stomach, switched off the light, and closed my eyes. “At least nothing can attack me in my sleep.”
********
I woke up in a cold sweat, and pain shot through my body. ‘Oh, shit!’ I thought to myself, scrambling to get out of bed. ‘I thought that was a nightmare!’ I ran to the bathroom to check myself in the mirror. Red, almost purple, handprints were around my throat and neck, yellowish-green bruises covered my arms, my entire body felt sore, and my tired eyes were dark.
I had just awaken from a nightmare in which I was two people, and I was choking myself, beating the second image of me, nearing killing. “Man, I’m losing it,” I whispered to myself.
A knock came from the hallway. I went to the door, opened it, and found Vince himself standing outside. “May I come in?” he asked in a calm tone. I nodded, and opened the door wider for him to enter.
I closed the door after he went into the main part of the room. “Is there something wrong?” I asked timidly. Timidly? I’d never been timid in my life, and here I was, cowering!
“Oh, nothing, save you walked out of a live event without permission,” he said, turning slowly to face me with an angry scowl. When he was able to see me, his face took on a shocked and horror-filled look. “What happened to you?” He walked over to me, and tried to touch my neck, but I waved his hands away as I sat down on the foot of the bed. “Did Mark do that?” His eyes were bulging at the thought.
I shook my head, and answered, “No, Mark wouldn’t do this…not like this anyway.” I laughed gently, and stopped when I realized Vince wasn’t laughing. “I did this…to myself.”
Vince collapsed into a chair, amazed somewhat. “How could you…why would you…” Vince stumbled to put his thoughts into words.
“Um…well…” I struggled to tell him. “You see, I had this nightmare that I was two people, and one was trying to kill the other. I thought it was just a dream, but apparently I was wrong.”
Vince’s eyes bulged out again for a few moments, but then he sat up straight, and assumed the look of a boss instead of a concerned friend or father figure. “Either way, DC, you walked out on a live show,” he stated after clearing his throat. I nodded. “This time, I’ll fine you, docking your next paycheck.” He stood up, and I followed him to the door. “You’re going to be at tonight’s show, no matter what. Another no-show, and you’ll be suspended for a time to be determined later. Understood?”
I nodded again, and whispered, “Yeah, I’ll be there.”
“Good,” Vince replied, and walked out the door.
I closed the door behind him, and leaned against it, sighing heavily. “Not only am I totally losing my control,” I said to myself, “but I’m also becoming a timid, soft, and intimidated coward.” I went to sit on the bed, and stared at my clenched hands for the longest time before a single tear fell down my cheek, and onto my hands. I decided to get myself ready, and head for the gym for some serious working-out.
Chapter 11-Scorpina
After I had my match with Triple H, I went to my hotel. I got to my hotel room, but before I could enter, Taker followed me. "Scorpina, thank you for getting my memory back for me. What should we do next?" he asked. I looked at Taker right in his eyes. "You fix your relationship with DC" I replied, and he looked rather shocked. "Why is that?" he asked. "She needs you Taker, she's lost. And she needs someone to love, besides. If you didn't get hit with that chair, and become Mark Callaway, she would have been you're dark side type of girl" I nudged his arm as a hint. He did a half smiled, and walked away. I planned on working out in the morning, so I went to bed.
*********************************
When I woke up in the morning, I had a nice hot bath, and got dressed. I went down the street to the gym, I walked in, and people stopped to stare at me. "Get back to your work out or I'll layeth the smackdown on all if you! One smart alack comment from anyone, they get to meet Mr. Windshield personally!" I threatened, and everyone got back to their work out. I saw DC staring at me. I walked up to her. I stared at her. "DC, I want to talk to you,” I said. She stopped lifting her weights, and looked at me with those cold, hazel eyes. "About what? You want my hotel room now? You can take it! You want my title shots? Take it. You took everything away from me!" she yelled. "No I didn't! Look, I'm sorry about you and Mark. But I talked to him. He wants to give the relationship a second chance,” I explained.
"But it's not Mark who I will be dating, it's Undertaker!" she shot back, which was true. "Taker wants to try a relationship, he hasn't had one in years. DC, I'm sorry for all the bad things that have happened to you. And I'm here in the WWF for a reason. I want to get my Kane and Undertaker back!" I cried. "Your Kane?" she asked. I nodded. "Why?" "I...well.... love him" I stuttered. She looked at me in complete shock. "You love Kane?" she asked, and I nodded. "Why? I mean, he wears a mask?" she asked. "I have felt his pain, and he has felt mine. I love him dearly. And I've always wanted to tell him...like the same way you always wanted to tell Mark" She was silent for a moment. "DC, I haven't told anyone else about your life. No one but Vince, Taker and Kane know. And they are the only ones who will know, till you're ready to tell everyone yourself" I explained. I suddenly saw Kane walk in. It was my chance to get him back. I looked at DC who was silent. I pulled out my scorpion necklace; I was going to get Kane back today!
Chapter 12-DC
I grabbed Scorpina’s upper arm before she could leave. “Listen,” I started, and took a deep breath. “You know how you looked at my past?” She nodded, and I could tell she was trying to avoid asking me about the visible bruises; everyone had avoided it as best they could. “Well, it’s hard for me to cope with it, and…” I shifted from one foot to the other. “Well, I-I just wanted to thank you, I guess, for not, you know, telling them at my mother locked me up in the closet all the time and beat me and stuff.” I looked down at the weights as I realized what I was doing, but I couldn’t stop now. “I guess I never really had anyone to follow, and I suppose that accounts for why I’m such a hard person and all. No real feminine role model. You also know, I suppose, that Mark’s the only one that helps me control my anger when I know he’s around and all, right?”
Scorpina nodded again, then glanced toward where Glenn was talking with a few other guys. She turned back to me, and said, “Well, I suppose you’re welcome, I guess, but I’ve got to go. You give what I told you some thinking.” I nodded, and she headed toward Glenn. I watched as she said something for him, and they headed toward a separate room.
All I could do was stare at her as she told me all that stuff, and then I shocked myself when I actually said ‘thank you’ to her. I’d never acknowledged gratitude as long as I could remember. As she walked away with Glenn, all I could think was that it wouldn’t be the same if Mark and I started over. “I wouldn’t be with Mark,” I mumbled to myself as I picked up the dumbbells again. “Just some other guy, with more raging hormones, nasty thoughts…” I set the weights down heavily, and sighed, as I couldn’t escape the truth anymore. “A guy who is the only one that can control my anger.”
I had been at the gym for a quite a while; I’d been there before everyone else showed up. I packed up my gym bag, and headed for the door. Mark entered just as I got to the door. “Hey, DC,” he greeted with uncertainty.
“Hi,” I mumbled back, keeping my stare down, looking at our feet.
A long silence took over for a minute or so, then Mark spoke up again, and asked, “What happened to you last night? You just left, and now look at you; bruises everywhere.”
The night before came back vividly as he spoke. The static was returning, but not as harshly. I shook my head, and stuttered out softly, “I-I-I can’t talk right now.” Sharply, I looked up at him, my defense mechanism kicking in. “If you don’t know why I left, then you a lot more dense than I thought!” I exited the gym, and headed toward the walk where a few taxi drivers were on break. “Hey, could one of you take me to the Regency?”
“Yeah, sure kid,” one man spoke up. I gave him an evil glare, and he swallowed as he directed me to his taxi. I sat in the back of the vehicle, and just as I heard my name being called out, the driver began to leave the curbside, heading toward the hotel.
Chapter 13-Scorpina
When I was talking to DC, I felt a sudden change in her. For the better. I managed to get Kane alone. We were in the tanning room. "Scorp, I don't need a tan,” he said. I pulled out my necklace, and put it to his back. He stood in shock. "Remember Kane, remember me, the mansion." I said. He was silent for a while. I looked at him in the face. His face began to turn red and black, till his mask appeared! "Scorpina...I remember! Oh Scorpina!" he cried, Kane hugged me. And I hugged back. "Kane.... I missed you so much! Kane, I need to know something,” I said. "What is that?" he asked. "DC, How can we help her?" I asked. Kane paused. He knew she was hurting inside like how he used to get hurt. "I think I know how,” he said. "Let's hear it" Taker walked in. He smiled at Kane.
"It's good to have you back Bro" "You too Taker, Are you going to give DC another chance? You seem to be the balancing power to controlling DC" Kane pointed out. "I know, in that case. I will give her a second chance. She reminds me so much of you Kane...in a way. Since you had a hard life as well." Taker said. Kane nodded. "I want to help too" I said, and they stared at me. "She told me that she needs help, and I'm gonna help her!" I yelled, they both nodded. "Ok, so what shall we do?" asked Taker. "Simple, we help her anyway we can! And we will give her the power to battle out and conquer her powers!" Kane said strictly. He put his hand out, Taker put his on top of Kane’s, and I put my hand on theirs. "We will fight the evil, and raise the good. Together we fight" Taker said. "And we will give her a family she needs!" I said, we all nodded. Operation: Temper control in affect!
Chapter 14-DC
After returning to my room, I felt a strange sense of relief. The static was less intense, and I seemed to be changing. It felt extremely strange. I dropped the gym bag beside the door to the bathroom, and stared at the bed. I wanted to sleep, but I was afraid to go back into sleep, afraid of killing myself instead of just strangling. “Afraid, that’s another change,” I said to myself, entering the bathroom. Quickly, I glanced in the mirror, and saw that the bruises were still apparent. “I look like I’ve been raped or something.”
I turned on the shower, removed my clothing, and stepped into the porcelain tub. Immediately, the hot streams hit my body in a massaging way, and it eased my tension that had built up. After I had nearly scrubbed my skin completely off my body, I stepped out, and wrapped a white terrycloth towel tightly around myself, as well as around my long, dripping hair. I walked out to the main part of the room, and flipped on the radio, playing with the tuning until a station came in clearly.
The DJ came on just as I was heading back into the bathroom to dry off and change. “Well, here’s a brand new song for you folks,” the DJ said. “Miss Sinead O’Connor’s ‘Jealous’.” As I began to fix myself up, I listened to the lyrics.
*You’re jealous You just can’t stand to see me get along Without you Like I do You told me to
Now you’re jealous You don’t how hard it was to be alone Without you And wanting you Like I do
I would’ve stayed if you’d a wanted Would’ve been willing But you said I treated you so badly, I can’t be forgiven You know I would’ve done anything To make it through with you But I don’t deserve to be lonely Just cause you say I do
You’re jealous You don’t know how hard it is To be a woman in love with you When you’re so cruel
And so jealous You don’t think about anybody’s feelings But your own Oooh…are you coming home?
I would’ve stayed if you’d a wanted Would’ve been willing But you said I treated you so badly, I can’t be forgiven You know I would’ve done anything To make it through with you But I don’t deserve to be lonely Just cause you say I do
So if you’re gonna go, You gotta go, And if you’re staying, stay Cause I can’t take the pain you keep leaving When you go away
So if you’re gonna go, You gotta go, And if you’re staying, stay Cause I can’t take the pain you keep leaving When you go away…
I don’t deserve to be So lonely I don’t deserve to cry Oooo…ooo…
I don’t deserve to be So lonely*
The song ended just as I finished drying and brushing out my hair. “Ironic, isn’t it?” I said to myself through the mirror, then rolled my eyes. I stepped into room again, switched off the radio as some boy band song came on, and glanced at the clock. The digital green numbers read 3:40. “I guess I’ll go to the arena, and grab some food there.”
I picked up my wrestling gym bag, and headed out of the hotel, determined to go to and stay at the arena to do my job, no matter what happens. The anger began to rise, and I forced myself to curb it, swallowing hard as I did so.
Chapter 15-Scorpina
I waited at the arena for DC. She showed up at 4:00. "DC..." "Shut up, I'm in no talking mood!" she replied, and stormed way. Taker stood in the shadows. "That went well!" he laughed. I shot an angry look at him, and he looked away. Vince called a meeting before the show. "Ok, now that DC is back in place...I hope, we shall start the feud between her and Scorpina" Vince announced. I nodded. DC looked like she was gonna explode. I knew tonight, I was gonna have one hell of a match! To make it worst, Vince made it a cage match! Taker didn't like that idea, so he tried to make Vince change his mind. "McMahon, what about a hardcore match instead?" he asked. "Nope, it's cage match! And that's final!" Vince called. DC left. I saw Eddie Guerrero smirk at DC as she walked away; I think Latino Heat may try to fuel the fire!
He left suddenly. Chyna got curious and followed. I too got curious, but Kane held me back. I hoped Eddie didn't do anything stupid!
Chapter 16-DC
I noticed Eddie smirking at me as I stormed past him, but I wasn’t up for splitting his lip. My anger had spilled over again, and it was growing even harder to control. I power walked my way to the locker room I had been assigned, slamming the door as I entered. “Great, just great,” I muttered as I took out my wrestling outfit.
The door opens again, and Eddie walks in. “Whoa!” he said in his crappy-assed Hispanic accent. “Looks like Hotacita is hot-tempered right now, slamming the door that way, in the Latino Heat’s face.”
I glared at him evilly, and, straining my voice to keep myself from shouting, said, “What the hell are you doing here, and why aren’t you gone from my sight yet?”
“Listen, Hotacita, I ain’t here to impose on nothing here,” he told me, “but I just found out you were available, and I wanted to ask you to consider me your man now.”
The glare intensified, and the static grew stronger, almost impossible to overcome. I stood up, took two strides to stand in front of him, and got right in his face, saying, “I don’t need anybody, understand? Or do you need a visual?”
I head butted him hard, and as he was staggering backwards, I kicked him in the groin. He bent over forward, and I grabbed his T-shirt with both hands, then threw him across the hallway. Eddie hit the brick wall hard, and crumpled to the floor. “Don’t ever try to talk to me ever again!” I shouted, then spit in his direction. I saw Joanie in the corner of my eye, and hoped she’d really kick the shit outta him, as I didn’t have the time. I went back into the room, and slammed the door behind me. “Damn men and their sick-assed hormones.”
Chapter 17-Scorpina
As we started Smackdown, DC, Kane and I went to the ring. Kane got the mic. "I would like to introduce my girlfriend to you all. This is Scorpina!" Kane called, and the crowd cheered. DC grabbed the mic. "Kane, how do you know she won't be like Tori? Or Chyna? How can you trust her so easily?" she demanded. Kane looked at her. "I have seen her heart. She wouldn't dare harm me!" Kane shot back. I smirked at DC and nodded. "What are you smirking at?! You smart A\\$$!" she yelled with venom in her voice, and she meant it! I took the mic from Kane. "I'm smiling because I'm in love with the cutest man in this federation, Kane!" I replied, and the crowd began to hoot and holler. "What's wrong, jealous?" I asked. DC slapped me across the face, and my, she has a powerful backhand! Kane looked rather shocked. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" he demanded.
"Tonight, you, me in this ring, Scorpina! There is no escape from me. You will be nothing but a child's play thing!" she said and stormed out of the ring. Kane took the mic back. "DC, don't ruin this for me!" Kane yelled. "I'm sorry Kane, I'm doing this for your own good!" DC shot back. "Than join the RTC why don't you!" I shot back, but she was backstage before I could get in my comeback. I'm gonna have one long night!
Chapter 18-DC
I locked myself in the locker room for most of the night after the in-ring promo, thinking as hard as I’ve ever thought about anything. It seemed that my life always took a downward spiral whenever anything popped up. As if my recent break-up wasn’t enough, I had a cage match with Scorpina. Vince had said something about the match being non-choreographed, which was a dangerous situation in a cage, especially for newbies.
A knock finally came to my door, and a voice on the other side called, “Match time.”
With a heavy sigh, I stood up, walked out of the room, and made my way to the curtain. As soon as my theme began to play, I slowly walked down the ramp to the caged-in ring. I stepped through the door, in-between the ropes, and faced the entrance ramp, awaiting Scorpina. Her music hit, and both she and Glenn headed out. When they reached the bottom of the ramp, Scorpina turned to Glenn, and told him to go to the back; she could do it on her own. He obliged, and went back up as Scorpina entered the ring. The ref shut the door, and had the timekeeper ring the bell.
Immediately, I ripped into Scorpina with stiff punches, which caught her off-guard. I had her backed against the ropes, so I bounced her off of them as much as one could with them being surrounded by a cage, sent her across the ring, then hit her with a neck breaker. I looked toward the cage walls, then down at Scorpina, who was beginning to get up. Refusing to let her get away so easily, I decided to resume my brutal beating.
As I pulled her up by her hair, she punched me in the lower stomach, and I let go of her. Scorpina began her assault of punches, backing me into a turnbuckle. There, she gave me kicks to the abdomen, then sent me to the corner across the ring with fierce velocity. I landed hard, and stumbled out toward the middle, where she met me with a short clothesline.
I laid on the canvas, taking short breaths, and waited a few moments before getting up. I saw Scorpina starting to climb up one of the cage walls. I instantly went over to that area, grabbed her ankle, and yanked hard, causing her to fall on her back in the ring. I placed a leg drop on her chest, then went for another, followed by a quick elbow drop. I was going for another elbow drop, but Scorpina had moved out of the way a spilt second before I hit the canvas.
Scorpina grabbed one of my legs, dragged me toward the ropes, and set my foot on the bottom one. She then dropped on that leg, causing it to nearly go backward in its socket. She did it another time, then straddled my stomach to punch at my head. After a few punches, I was able to push her off my body. We stood up about the same time, and locked arms. I was able to twist her around so that we were back-to-back, and I lifted her over my head and into a power bomb, successfully giving her the Child’s Plaything. I looked around, and, thinking I had Scorpina beat, began to climb up the cage.
I straddled the top, and looked back into the ring to see Scorpina standing up, astonishing not only the crowd, but myself as well; no one had gotten up from my finishing move so quickly. “Damn it,” I softly swore, and descended back into the ring, dropping the last five feet to land beside her. “You think you’re tough, don’t ya?” I grabbed her head, and rammed it into the steel cage mesh.
I walked her around, holding her head and ramming it into the cage until her face was good and bloody from the lacerations. I released her head only to grab her arm, and whipped her into the cage hard, sending her sprawling to the mat. I pounced on her, giving her punches to the head, then kicked her fiercely several times.
Glenn had come back down the ramp, and finally caught my attention. “DC,” he called angrily, “I swear, if you do anything to seriously hurt her, I will be the one to put you out of commission.”
“Have fun tryin’,” I responded violently, walking toward where he stood outside the cage. “I couldn’t do it myself, so how do you figure you can do it any better?” The ref was yelling at Glenn, telling him to go to the back again, distracting us both.
Scorpina suddenly grabbed my head, and rammed it into the cage mesh as Glenn walked up the ramp, then dragged my face around all four walls of the cage. By the time she let go of me, my vision was filled with deep scarlet blood. I growled in frustration, and yelled out loudly in anger, my control completely lost, but this time, I could see what I was doing.
I roughly grabbed her, lifted her onto my shoulder, and back dropped her. I got upright, then began to kick her without mercy. By the time I stopped to rest, she was sputtering blood from her mouth in addition to the blood still coming down her face. Despite this, she got up again, and sent me into the cage. I stumbled back, and she did a spinning-heel kick to my jaw, forcing me to fall. She took over the kicking procedure, kicking with such fierceness, I thought I would be puking up blood for a whole week. When she stopped, I turned on to my side to spit out the blood in my mouth, which had been acquired when I bit my tongue, plus the blood coming up from Scorpina’s kicks.
I stood up, and faced her. Both of us were bleeding profusely, and both of us wouldn’t, no…couldn’t, give up. We began striking each other with stiff punches, forcing each other to stumble each time. With a second wind, Scorpina grabbed my arm, sent me into the ropes, then bounced off the other side herself. We both were running back to the center with our heads down, and we crashed into each other hard; so hard, I thought I bit my tongue completely off. We both fell to the canvas, breathing heavily. I heard the ref counting outside. ‘Why is he counting?’ I wondered. I tried to get up, but my body wouldn’t respond. It wouldn’t let me move, for every time I did, pain would shoot up from somewhere, even places I don’t remember having been attacked at.
Suddenly, the ring bell rang, concluding the match. ‘Shit, she got out,’ was my first thought. A few moments later, the ring announcer said into the mic, “This match has resulted in a double count-out.” I blinked a few times, thinking that one of us could’ve easily got out. I could’ve, but I came back to give more punishment. Slowly, I turned my head to look where Scorpina still laid, blood still dripping off her head and onto the mat. She was smiling deviously. I sneered at her, and returned my gaze to the top of the arena.
Chapter 19-Scorpina
After the match, I had to have help getting up. Chris Benoit and Triple H came out to help me. Taker and Kane took DC to the back. "That was one hell of a match there Scorp!" laughed Hunter. I could barely talk since I was covered in blood. My insides were killing, and my forehead was bleeding. I was sitting down when the EMTs arrived. "Don't bother,” I said. "But miss, you need stitches!" said one of the EMTs. " I said don't bother!" I yelled, I could feel my cut heal. I got a towel and wiped my face. The EMTs were surprised to see my cut gone. My insides started to heal, but that's more painful. I was moaning in pain for a while, till the pain stopped. I was healed; I forgot to mention I have a good healing rate!
"Scorpina?" Kane asked as he walked into the locker room. "Hey Kane, how's DC?" I asked. "She has had better days.... You were holding back weren't you?" Kane asked. "Maybe just a little" I lied. Kane crossed his arms and gave me the glare. "Ok I was sorry!" I replied sarcastically. "You realize you will bruise her pride" Kane said, and I nodded. "I can't help it if I'm not human thanks!" "Scorpina, maybe it's about time she knew the WHOLE story?" Kane asked. "I...can't, I don't trust her!" I replied. "Trust or no trust, Scorpina, she must know! You know all about her past, she must and should know yours! Scorpina, do this for me please?" Kane asked, he sat beside me and put his head on my shoulder. I swear I head him whimper! "Ok, ok. I'll tell her!" I sighed, and I could sense Kane smile. He knew I couldn't resist his puppy dog eyes and whimper!
Chapter 20-DC
Mark and Glenn helped to the back, which I thought was kinda weird, but I guessed the cameras had stopped rolling. As they took back to my locker room, we passed Scorpina being checked out by the EMTs. I heard her say something like “Don’t bother”. ‘Man, she’s really lost her mind now,’ I thought. ‘That girl’s gonna get some infection, and she’ll wish she’d gotten that needed attention.’
They took me to my locker room, setting me gently on the bench in the center of the room. Glenn left, but Mark stayed as he went into the bathroom to retrieve a towel. When he returned, he handed it to me. “Thanks,” I said through the blood in my mouth, and put the cloth over my deep cut.
Mark sat down, and said, “Brutal match, isn’t it?” I nodded. “I think you need stitches.” I nodded again.
Just as he finished, the door opened, and two EMTs walked in. Mark stood to let them have more room. Quickly, they were able to stitch the wound closed, and placed a bandage of the black threads. Once they left about fifteen minutes after they had arrived, I went into the bathroom, and turned on the faucet in the sink, letting warm water fill the basin.
I cleaned off the dried-on blood, and stared into the mirror, hoping I really didn’t bite too deeply into my tongue; my face was dripping wet, and my hair was everywhere. “You look like a drowned rat,” Mark commented from the doorway.
“Go to hell, Mark,” I replied with a touch of anger. “I don’t need that right now.”
I returned to the main part of the locker room, and sat back down. Mark sat next to me. “I think you need to listen to me, because we need to talk,” he said.
I shook my head, and replied, “No, we don’t. It’s hard enough to stand everything else in this world, and talking to you isn’t gonna help me much.”
“Then maybe talking to all of us would help,” came Glenn’s voice from the door. I hadn’t noticed, but Glenn and Scorpina had walked in. Glenn looked over at Mark. “I think it’s time to tell her.”
“If you’re gonna tell me that you’ve just been using me, I know that already,” I stated with a stone cold glare on Scorpina.
“It’s not that,” Mark said, standing up, and joining the other two. Glenn closed the door.
I looked confused, and asked, “Then what? What is it?”
Chapter 21-Scorpina
Taker and Kane stared at me. I sighed and began to talk. "I know your life story, it's about time you knew mine,” I said. "Scorpina, why aren't you bleeding? Where is your cut on your forehead?" DC demanded. "That's part of my story. DC, I'm not human. I'm more Scorpion than human. I know that as a fact" I said. DC looked rather curious. "Continue,” she said. "When I was 14, I was constantly made fun of. Since after all, I had no eyes. And one time I made one of the students go unconscious after scratching him with my nail. I have venom in these things. When I was sleeping one night. I dreamt I met Kane, I ran away from home. I went through a forest; a mist came off the ground. Next thing I knew, I was knocking on the door of the mansion. And Undertaker answered the door"
"A mansion? You're kidding me" DC replied sarcastically. "Anyway, Taker let me in, and I met Kane. He told me I was a bride of Kane. A person who shares a special connection with him, I as well as 50 others had this connection" "Let me guess, you lived happily ever after" DC interrupted. "Far from it. I had 2 sorcerers on my case! Kane ate one of them after he was turned into a human snake." I shot back. She stared at Kane. "Why am I not surprised?" she asked, and Kane patted his stomach. "I'm a growing man, I need my protein" Kane laughed. "But when one of the main brides left, we all fell apart. I was the last to leave the mansion. I trained hard so I could see Kane and Taker again. That's why I'm in the WWF,” I explained. "So, what makes you...not human?" she asked. "Well, I can change into a part human part scorpion at will. I can stick to wall in the scorpion form and the way I am now. I’m telepathic, that's how I read your mind. I can control fire and lightning. And I can heal within 10 seconds" I explained. "You expect me to buy this bull!" DC yelled. "No, all I'm asking you is to trust me. Trust Taker and trust Kane. Or else you'll live by DTA. Don't Trust Anyone" "DC, do you trust us?" Taker asked.
Chapter 22-DC
I looked from Mark to Glenn, and finally, my eyes settled on Scorpina. She just told me that she was not human, telepathic, and pyrokinetic. This was all too much to believe, but it had its good points. I could just imagine the huge mansion, Glenn eating some sorcerer (although that was almost a little ways away from reality), and the fact that she has all these powers could come in handy. ‘It’s a lie, girl,’ my mind told me. ‘Don’t believe them; they’ll just stab you in the back.’
“DC, hello?” Glenn called out. I had spaced out for a moment. “You trust us?”
I focused back on all three, and slowly shook my head. “I can’t think right now, not with all this pressure,” I replied quietly, then took a deep breath. “Give me some time.” Quickly, I grabbed my bag, and bolted out the door, running down the corridor to the parking garage. I hopped into a cab, and told the driver to take me to my hotel.
When I entered my room, the first thing I did was scream, letting repressed anger out quickly. “Why is my life tormented like this?” I asked aloud. “First, she’s an enemy, and now, she wants me to trust her.” The static grew so much that I had to put my hands over my ears, and scream again.
A knock came to the door, and I turned to open it. Standing before me was Mark, a worried expression on his face; the static began to subside. Not only that, but he had a windblown, wild look about him; his auburn hair laid in tussles around his shoulders, and his black shirt was halfway unbuttoned. “Don’t run out like that anymore,” was the first thing he said to me. “Especially without saying why.”
I stepped aside to let him in, then shut the door. “Sorry,” I mumbled, wringing my hands. “Um, I just needed to get out of there.” I glared at him suddenly. “I don’t like being triple teamed.”
He sat down at the foot of the bed, and shrugged. “I didn’t think they’d be by so soon,” he replied.
I sat beside him. “Mark, I-”
“My name’s not Mark,” he interrupted quickly.
“Humor me, okay?” I responded. “I don’t know what the real past for you three is about, but I can’t just readily trust anyone anymore. It took me a long while to even pass by you, you know, or even act somewhat decent around anyone.”
“I remember,” he told me. “I also remember some times when you were pretty feminine.” He stroked my face gently with his forefinger. “I miss that.”
I grabbed his finger, and looked up into his eyes. “I don’t know what to do,” I said. “I want to trust you all, but I don’t know how. I don’t know how you all could forgive me.” I looked down at my legs. With a whisper, I add, “I don’t know how I can even compare to a non-human with incredible powers and-and-”
Mark put his finger over my lips, silencing me. “You don’t have to know everything right now, do you?” he stated softly, and smiled. “Don’t think too much about it.”
The static died completely down, and I had to smile back. He was Mark, as much as he protested, but he was also Taker. ‘Could you possibly live with both?’ a new voice inside me asked. ‘Love both equally?’
“Do you want to stay for a while?” I asked without thinking, then bit my tongue gently. ‘What if he’d gotten over you? You’re making a fool of yourself.’ I thought
“I’d love to,” was his reply.
Chapter 23-Scorpina
Kane and I saw Taker go after DC. For the first time in a long while, he used his teleporting powers. I looked back at Kane. "You think he will have a better relationship with DC since he's back to normal?" I asked Kane. Kane smiled with his eyes. There's always a twinkle in his eyes when he smiles. "I think so, and I think it's about time I find myself a partner..." Kane looked at me, and I began to blush. "Oh Kane..." "I wonder if Trish was available?" I looked at Kane; I was in total shock! Kane started to laugh. "I'm just kidding!" "Kid me like that again and I will get medieval..." "Oh please do!" Kane laughed again, and I couldn't help but laugh. Kane and I went back to the hotel; we teleported to the hotel room. Kane stopped in the middle of the hallway. "Why not go to the mansion tonight?" he asked. I looked at Kane. "Really?! OK LET'S GO!" I yelled. Kane used his powers and took me to the mansion. But the fireplace was lit in the living room. "Who could that be?" I whispered. We looked in and there was Taker and DC together by the fireplace.
"Let's go to the dinning room,” Kane whispered, we went to the dinning room. There was another fireplace, the long table, and antique chairs. All the same way I remembered it. "That's odd, everything is dusted?" Kane said. The kitchen light was on. I saw Edge, Christian, and the Hardy Boys covered in dust. "Dude, we never let Taker sucker us like that again!" said Edge. "Agreed" replied Christian and the Hardy boys. I joined Kane in the dinning room. The fire was lit, and he was sitting on one of the couches, waiting for me. Kane patted a seat next to him, so I sat next to Kane. "Just like the good old days no?" I asked. Kane looked rather sad. "You miss Storm, don't you?" I asked, and Kane nodded. "She left me for Vampiro, why?" Kane cried, and I hugged Kane to make him feel better. "I'm here now Kane, and I promise, I will never leave you" I said. Kane hugged me back. "Thank you Scorpina" Kane replied. I fell asleep in Kane's arm. I wondered how DC and Taker were doing?
Chapter 24-DC
I was simply astounded at his powers, being able to go from one place to another without even blinking. “This is the mansion,” he told me as we stood in the living room.
I looked around wide-eyed, and replied, “So it’s true.”
Mark chuckled, and responded, “Of course it’s true. We spent many years here, and all sorts of things have happened. You won’t believe most of them, either.”
I shook my head, and said, “I sure wouldn’t.” I sat down on the large sofa as he walked over to the fireplace. Without hardly any effort, he had a fire going within seconds. He sat close beside me; not too close, but close enough to get me nervous.
“You know, you’ll have to trust us sooner or later,” he said softly. “We know your story, and you know ours. What else is there to it?”
“Trust is hard for me, you know that,” I responded. “Give me a while; it’ll come.”
He placed his arm around my shoulders, and asked, “So you do trust us then?”
I shrugged off his arm, and sat forward. “I trust you, and I guess I trust Glenn,” I replied. “Scorpina is the one I’m not so sure of.”
I felt his hands take my waist, and he pulled me back beside him. He took my chin in his hand and turned my face toward him. “We’re not here to hurt you or ruin anything for you,” he told me honestly. “Relax a bit, okay? We just want to help you, to become friends.”
I closed my eyes to prevent the tears stinging my eyes from coming out in front of him. Taking a deep breath, I said, “Let me work on it, Mark. I’ll try, but that’s all I can do.”
He smiled slightly, as if in victory, and replied, “That’s good enough for me.”
I leaned my head down on his shoulder, and stared at the fire, watching it burn the logs, and watching the flames lick the air so fluidly.
I’m not sure how long I stared at the fire, possibly hours. My concentration was interrupted by the sound of the door opening and being shut. I didn’t want to see who it was, because if I was right, it was Kane and Scorpina. I looked at Mark, and noticed he was fast asleep. ‘He looks so angelic like this,’ I thought.
“I-I love you,” I whispered so softly that I could barely hear it myself. Again, I leaned my head down on his shoulder, and closed my eyes. Sleep came quickly.
Chapter 25-Scorpina
When I work up the next morning, I was asleep on Kane's stomach, his stomach growled so it woke me up. "Breakfast time" Kane moaned as he woke up as well. He looked down at me and smiled. "Good morning" I said. "Morning, hungry?" he asked, and I nodded. We went to the dinning room table. Kane sat but I left to check on DC and Taker. I crept into the living room. DC kept mumbling, 'I love you'. It looked like she is coming out of her shell I hope. I rejoined Kane. I wasn't even gone for a minute and the table was covered in food! "You never cease to amaze me,” I laughed. Kane smiled. “Let’s wake up the others,” he said. Kane got the others, as I helped myself to some hot chocolate with mini marshmallows. DC walked in; she looked shocked to see me at the table.
"Scorpina, why are you here?" she asked. "I slept over with Kane" I replied. She looked rather disturbed. "Not that kind of sleep over" I shot back. Taker and Kane walked in, and we all sat to have breakfast. "Is all of this food necessary?" DC asked. "You'll be surprised!" I laughed. DC watched in shock as Kane nearly cleared half of the table in a 10 minute time period! "Come on Kane, you cleared it the last time in 7 minutes!" said Taker. "I was depressed then!" Kane shot back, and DC chuckled, which got Kane's attention. "So, she can laugh!" Kane smirked. "I wasn't laughing!" DC said. "Yes you were" Taker smirked. "No I wasn't!" she yelled. Kane and I watched the argument go back and forth, but we could tell Taker was just playing, since after all, no one won an argument with the Undertaker!
Chapter 26-DC
“I was not!” I protested yet again. “I had a throat cough!”
“Uh-huh, right, sure,” Mark said, and poked at me. “You were chuckling, and you can say whatever the hell you want to say, but it was a laugh.” He turned to the other two. “Was it not?”
They nodded. “Thanks a lot, you two,” I stated, and smiled deviously. “Remember, I know where you sleep.”
The other three laughed, and I couldn’t help but join them. “A-ha! See, you did it again!” Mark said, pointing toward me.
With the most innocent look I could muster, I asked, “What? What did I do?” I rolled my eyes. “Okay, all right. So I can laugh, big deal! Is that a law now, nobody named DC can laugh?”
Mark stood up, and announced, “I’ve got to take a shower.” He walked out of the room, and toward the huge staircase.
I watched him leave, and turned back to see two pairs of interested eyes staring back at. “What?” I asked.
“So, what’s going on?” Scorpina asked straightforward.
“Nothing,” I replied, and sighed. “That’s the problem. I think he’s got someone else up on a pedestal, and I don’t think I’d ever be able to get that high.”
“Who could he possibly put on that pedestal?” Glenn asked, looking from me to Scorpina.
“I wouldn’t know,” I told them, “but the way everything’s been going, it sure ain’t me.” I looked up at Scorpina. “For the first time since I can ever remember, I said ‘I love you’. I don’t think he heard me though.”
“There’s only one way to find out,” Scorpina said, taking Glenn’s hand tightly.
I stood, shaking my head. “I don’t want to find out. I think I’ve got the answer I was looking for.” I told them. I walked toward the stairs, holding my upper arm with the opposite hand. ‘Might as well leave,’ I thought to myself as I headed for a spare room after I noted that Mark was in the main bathroom. ‘Nothing left for me here.’
Chapter 27-Scorpina
DC still wasn't sure of what to make of the situation between her and Taker. Taker told me telepathically that he is in love with her, but he wants to make sure she loves him. "So, she's planning on leaving" I said to Kane, and Kane chuckled. "I suppose you didn't tell her that the only way to leave here is if you can teleport" Kane laughed. "I didn't tell her this is another dimension!" I laughed as well. Taker came down from his shower 10 minutes later. "Where's DC?" he asked. "She is trying to leave" Kane explained. I got up from my chair and went to the kitchen. There was DC in the rose garden. She looked confused, so she sat on the dragon waterfall. "I think you should talk to her,” I told Taker, and he looked at me oddly. "Why? She doesn't want to say anything to me" he shot back. "She's scared!" Kane yelled.
"Of what?! I know she has been hurt before, so have I!" "Taker, being shot through a wall by a sorcerer doesn't count as that kind of hurt DC has" I replied. "What should I say?" he asked. "Tell her how you really feel about her! Women love that,” said Kane. "Since when did you become Cupid?" Taker grumbled. "Ever since I got involved in this" Kane smirked. Taker went out to the garden. I saw him sit next to DC. "Those 2 have more in common than they think,” I said, and Kane looked at me oddly. "What are you talking about Scorpina?" Kane demanded. I looked at Kane very seriously. "She has powers of her own. She just can’t access them quite yet. She will be able too, if she learns to trust Taker. He's the only one who can unlock them" I replied. Kane looked confused. "How pray tell does he do that?" Kane asked.
Chapter 28-DC
“I’m a pathetic coward,” I told Mark as he sat beside me.
“No you’re not,” he replied. “You’re just confused.”
I softly laughed, and said, “I don’t think I’ve ever known anybody as insecure as I am right now.” I looked out at the beautiful garden, and sighed. “At the same time, I don’t think I’ve ever felt as safe as I do.”
“You lost me,” Mark stated.
Scorpina’s words echoed in my head loud and clear: ‘DC, I haven't told anyone else about your life. No one but Vince, Taker and Kane know. And they are the only ones who will know, till you're ready to tell everyone yourself.’
I took a deep breath, and said, “Mark, I’ve got something to tell you.” When I saw that I had his attention, I explained myself. “I had no role model as a kid, and the ones that would even be close, weren’t great at all. That’s kinda why I ended up the way I am; jealous, insecure, aggressive, dangerous. You see, I’ve always had problems controlling my anger; it was like I was possessed by some force that I couldn’t battle, and I’d black-out once it got completely out of hand. I wouldn’t know if I had killed, maimed, or anything.”
I looked up into his eyes. “That is, until I met you. It seems that when I’m around you, the static goes away, and I have the control over my anger. I’ve searched for a long time to find something or someone that could do that, but when I found what I was looking for, I pushed away.” I looked down at my hands. “A pathetic coward is the right description for me.”
“I don’t see a pathetic coward,” Mark said. “I see a very confused, but strong woman who doesn’t want a repeat of her past.” He put his arms around me, and drew me closer to his body. In turn, I placed an arm around his waist. “I heard you last night, when you thought I wasn’t awake. I love you, too, DC.”
A single tear slid down my face, a tear of happiness, and I replied, “Thank you, Mark, for accepting me as I am.” I had to smile. “I may not be pedestal-material, but I’m sure as hell gonna try.”
Mark kissed the top of my head. “You don’t have to try,” he told me. “You’re already there.”
Chapter 29-Scorpina
I stared out the window, when Kane put his arms around me. "So, how are they doing?" he asked. "It seems to me DC has found her place, and you may have a sister in law in the making" I replied, and Kane looked at me. "And I think Taker wouldn't mind having a sister in law as well!" Kane laughed. The kitchen door opened. Triple H walked in. "There you two are! Where’re Taker and DC? Vince is looking everywhere for you two!" Hunter explained. "Oh, we were just fixing up some loose ends. And maybe become a family. Taker and DC have told each other they love one another. And I am in love too" Kane replied. Triple H smiled. "So, when does Vinny want us back?" I asked. "He just wanted to know where you were, I'll tell him you are just hanging" Hunter smiled and left. Kane and I looked back outside, but DC and Taker were gone. "Where did they go?" I asked.
"Taker has a secret garden. He has never shown anyone but me. DC is the first to see it; she will love it. Trust me. All of her dreams come true in that garden" Kane explained. "How so?" I asked. "You're deepest desire will appear before you, if you truly trust your heart. You can reach out and grab it, and it will be real. When you leave, you still have the item in your hands" "Cool, lucky girl. But I got what I want right here" I hugged Kane, and his stomach growled. "I'm guessing you need a snack?" I laughed. Kane smiled with his eyes. "How could you tell?"
I stared back outside; I wondered what DC's deepest desire was? And what did this garden Taker have look like?
Chapter 30-DC
Mark took my hand, and said, “C’mon, we’re being watched here. I’ve got something I want to show you.”
I let him lead me into the far reaches of the garden of the mansion to only be pulled through mists, where a gate appeared before us. He took out a key from his pocket, carefully placed it into the door, and turned it, where a click followed. He then pushed it open, took my hand again, and led me inside. I gasped in amazement at what my eyes settled on.
The first thing I saw was tiger lilies, tons and tons of tiger lilies, my absolute favorite flower. There were also many dragon fountains, like the one by the house. Deep red roses circled around the garden, and intertwined with more tiger lilies. Weeping willows surrounded the entire scene “It’s beautiful,” I whispered, walking up and touching a tiger lily. “It’s like you’ve gone right into my deepest subconscious to bring out the most beautiful scene I could ever imagine.” The sound of gently trickling water catches my attention, and I walk a little farther to come across a large pond. “Even the quiet pond adds to this-this paradise.”
“I take it you like it, then?” Mark commented.
“I love it!” I told him, turning to face him with a smile.
He returned the smile, and retook my hand. “I want you to do something for me,” he instructed slowly. “I want you to close your eyes, and go into your soul.”
I closed my eyes, and searched hard. “What am I searching for?” I asked.
“Your deepest desire,” he answered. “Whatever it is that you desire the most, it shall be your’s.”
I smiled as I opened my eyes, and replied, “I’ve already got my greatest desire. I don’t need anything else when I’ve got you. Mark.”
He leaned forward, and gently kissed my lips, then led me out of the garden. As we walked back hand-in-hand toward the mansion, he said, “I would be most pleased if you’d call me Taker, DC.”
I looked at him, and replied, “That might take a bit of getting used to, but okay. I must warn you, I’m gonna call you Mark to annoy you.”
“Thanks for the warning,” he laughed, and opened the kitchen door for me. When we walked in, Scorpina and Glenn…err…Kane, were sitting at the table, with Kane eating yet again.
Chapter 31-Scorpina
As Kane ate his....'snack', DC and Taker walked in. DC looked as giddy as a schoolgirl. "My, you seem rather happy" I laughed, and she smiled. "For the first time in my life, I am happy. Taker here showed me the garden.... Oh Scorpina it was wonderful!" She then stared at Kane. "When you told me Kane ate a sorcerer, I didn't believe it.... But the way he's eating now, I believe it!" she laughed. "Exmumed mf?" Kane asked with his mouth full. "Chew, swallow than talk Kane!" I scolded. Kane took a huge gulp. "Sorry, what did you say DC?" Kane asked. "Nothing!" she replied.
"Now, when shall we get back?" Taker asked. "Oh, I don't want to leave!" DC spun around and landed on the sofa. "I'm just so happy here!" she said. "In that case, instead of checking into a hotel, we'll come here,” said Kane. "Awesome!" I replied. Taker sat next to DC. "So, do you think we should get hitched?" Taker asked. "Hitched? As in married?!" DC yelled. "I know I'm rushing into it..." "I’d say!" I spoke up, but Kane stared at me oddly. "You don't want to get married soon?" Kane asked. I looked at Kane, and I was shocked. Kane and Taker reached into their pockets and pulled out rings! "DC, will you marry me?" Taker asked. Kane got up, and got on one knee before me. "Scorpina, will you marry me?" Kane asked. DC and I looked at each other. We were both shocked and confused!
Chapter 32-DC
Shocked and confused was the right description. Mark…err, Taker and I had just gotten back together, and now, a proposal for marriage? I surely never thought it’d happen, but it just did. I finally tore my gaze from Scorpina’s, who mirrored my own expressions of shock and amazement. I looked at Taker, holding a gorgeous ring in this little, velvet box. “Taker, I-I don’t know what to say,” I said, stumbling over my words. “I mean, we just back together, and with my many questions to your misty past, I do think it’s rushing a bit.”
He looked so dejected as I told him this. I placed my hand on his out held arm, and added, “Someday, Taker, but not now. We will, I promise, but not so soon.”
“Yeah, I guess it is a bit too soon,” Taker told me. He looked over his shoulder at Kane and Scorpina. “And you two? What have you decided?”
Kane and Scorpina looked from us to each other, as if indecision was the theme of the day.
As I awaited their answer, the thought in the back of my mind was, ‘Don’t we have some signing or something today?’
Chapter 33-Scorpina
As Kane proposed, I was lost for words. I didn't know what to say, but I have known Kane all my life basically. He wouldn't do something unless he was absolutely sure. "Kane...Yes I will" I replied. Kane got up from his knees and hugged me. "Oh Scorpina, thank you! I promise, I will make you the happiest woman in the world!" Kane cried. I turned to see Taker; he looked sad since he wasn't getting married. But an idea hit me.
"I got an idea. If Kane and I hold our wedding off, till DC decides she is ready.... Then let's have a double wedding!" I suggested. They all thought about it. "I like the idea" said Kane, and Taker's eyes lit up. "You would do that for me?" he asked Kane, and Kane nodded. "Thank you little brother" "Do I get a say in this?" DC asked. We all looked at her. "I like the idea, but...I still don't know much about you Mar..... I mean Taker,” she said. Taker sighed. "I will tell you everything" Taker and DC sat down.
"It started when I was a boy, and Kane was too. The night of the fire will forever scar Kane and me for life. Me emotionally, Kane physically" Taker explained. "What, I thought that was a crummy story line Vince thought of!" DC protested. "It's real DC, I will explain to you later" I whispered, and she nodded. "When I saw the house burn down, I was scared. I felt a cold hand on my shoulder. The Embalmer took me in; he made my soul black and my heart cold. He told me that I caused the fire, and it was I who will be killed by Kane if Kane ever found me. I believed him" "As did I as well. The Embalmer came to me once, and told me Taker set fire to the house, and killed mother. I was so full of rage; I was fooled by him. But Taker saved my life outside of the ring. I knew my brother wasn't pure evil. If he was, he would have left me to die,” Kane explained.
"What did Taker save you from?" DC asked, and Kane looked at her in the eyes. "Cancer" Kane said. DC looked shocked. "How though?" "I needed a blood transfusion. Taker matched me. And Taker had a cure for my type of cancer. This isn't the same as the one you and Scorpina are familiar with. This is one cancer that is caused by lost, hate, and pain. Taker's blood prevented my blood from turning cold,” Kane continued. I too was shocked by this. Kane never spoke of this when I was young. "The Embalmer was the one who poisoned Kane like that, and he was the one the possessed me to burn the house. I left him and joined with Kane. This is when Scorpina comes in. We have known her since she was 14 years old" Taker smiled. "And the rest there is history. We destroyed the Embalmer...Well Kane did, thus explained the tummy he has!" I laughed, and DC did too.
Chapter 34-DC
So the story was true…it wasn’t just another concoction of Vince’s. After we finished laughing, I had to ask, “Don’t we have something to do today? Like an autograph signing or something?”
Everyone looked down at their watches. “Yeah,” Kane sighed. “Got a rally tonight.” He put his arm around Scorpina’s shoulders. “It seems kinda funny that we’d all be at the same rally.”
“I don’t really think so,” Taker replied. “I think he’s trying to start something between us all. Like make us form a stable.”
“I think we pretty much did that on our own,” Scorpina commented. Everyone nodded, me included. As I looked from one face to another, I could see that we were a family, one I had always wanted when I was younger. I had abandoned the idea a long time ago, knowing it’d never come. Glad I was wrong.
I stood up, stretched, and announced, “Well, I’m gonna go get fixed up.”
“You just took a shower,” Taker informed me, taking my hand in his much larger one.
I smiled down at him, and replied, “I know that, but I want to change if we’re going to a rally.” I looked down at my gray sweatpants and baggy T-shirt. “I don’t think this constitutes as rally wear.”
“I’m gonna change, too,” Scorpina said, standing up beside me. She grabbed my arm, and dragged me with her to the stairs. “We’ll be back soon.”
After laughing our way upstairs, I finally gathered the courage to ask, “So what was it that you wanted to explain?” She looked at me, confused. “You know, when you said that their past was real.”
She nodded, and opened her mouth to speak.
Chapter 35-Scorpina
"DC, I want to take you to see Kane and Taker's old house,” I explained. DC looked at me in shock. "You know where it is?" she asked, and I nodded. "You want to see it before we go?" I asked, and DC nodded again. I teleported her to a place in the country. We were standing before debris of a burnt down house. "What is this place?"
"Kane and Taker's home. Their mother died in the house during the fire, Paul barely made it out" I explained. "Freaky...So, what else is there to see?" she asked. "With your permission, I will use my powers and show you what happened that night" I said, and DC nodded. I put my index and middle fingers on the sides of her head.
"Open your mind, and heart. See why Taker and Kane went apart. See what happened late at night. What happened to their home, by candlelight.” I cast a spell on DC's eyes. Her eyes were open and glowing.
"DC, what do you see?" I asked
Chapter 36-DC
I was in shock as I watched everything that was happening. “I see two small boys standing outside the burning house,” I told her. “One standing with a gasoline tank beside him, and the other running inside, screaming and crying. A woman’s screams overtake everything. The fire seems to jump as the second boy runs into the house. The first just stands there, as if in shock. Wait…another person’s walking up. He’s wearing a cape and a mask…is that the Embalmer?”
“Yes,” Scorpina said. “What else do you see?”
With the continuing pictures running past my eyes, I responded, “So much is going by my eyes. One boy growing up as a slave to the Embalmer, and the other growing up as a freak of nature, as Paul put it to him, locked in the house. Both grow to be huge men, damaged physically for one and emotionally for the other, but both strong and talented.” Finally, the images stop spinning, and it stops at one. “Now I see Taker and Kane working together to destroy those that were evil.” Women come into the picture. “The Brides of Kane?”
“Yes,” she replied, and released my head.
I came back to the present. “I think I’m gonna be sick,” I told her, holding my stomach.
“The spinning?” she asked.
“No, the lingering smell of burning human flesh,” I replied. I stood, looking at the place where the two had grown up. A thought struck me. “And their father? What about him?”
Chapter 37-Scorpina
"Paul Bearer, oh. Now that's a whole different story. Paul was kidnapped when the house was burned to the ground. A dark soul took his place; the dark soul was the one that locked Kane in when he was a child. But that dark soul is destroyed,” I explained. DC looked at me. "Well, where's the real Paul Bearer?" she asked. "In the WWF! The Paul there is the real Paul Bearer. He has become a second father to me...and you as well I see" I smiled. DC blushed. "I never really had a father. He's the closest one to it" she replied. I nodded. We teleported back home. Taker and Kane were waiting for us. "Where were you two!" Taker demanded. "Sight seeing" DC replied. I had an odd feeling we were being watched.
"Taker, Kane. I think we're being watched...Vince!" I sighed. "Vince?" demanded DC. "The Embalmer’s little brother" I explained. DC was speechless; she looked at Kane and Taker for answers. "Is that true?" she asked. "In the words of Kurt Angle, it's true" Kane replied. "How though!" DC asked. "That's not all. Stephanie McMahon is the Embalmer's daughter. She was adopted by the McMahon’s. Kane and Undertaker...are her uncles,” I continued. DC was now totally confused.
"My twin sister Kleo was the Embalmer’s slave, and she was used as his toy. She had a child, Stephanie. Kleo left her on the McMahon porch to save Steph. Moments later, she was killed by the Embalmer himself. But Vince took Steph to be his daughter. We don't like talking about this much" Taker explained.
"Well, I guess we should get to that rally?" I asked, everyone nodded, we all teleported to the rally.
Chapter 38-DC
Immediately after we arrived at the speedway, I knew I was at a place I could call home. Thousands of people, bikers and fans alike, had filled the speedway, many of the bikers bringing their own motorcycles. I looked up at Taker, and I could see he felt the same way.
A man with a shoulder tattoo came up to us. He was wearing a leather vest over a white Harley-Davidson T-shirt, a leather cap, and dark sunglasses. “’Bout time you all showed up,” he said, then laughed for some apparent reason unknown to us. “First, we’ll want you to ride around the speedway a few laps; I suppose the woman will be riding on the back?” We nodded slowly. He grinned. “Great. Then, you sign some autographs at an area we set up for you. Next, we have a few races, with you all at the line; some announcing, and then more autographs. Think you can handle that?”
I saw the two taller men smirk at the coordinator. “With our line of work, we can pretty much handle anything,” Taker responded.
“Save their own counterparts,” I quickly added, grinning at them. Scorpina laughed at the comment, but both men shot me evil looks.
The coordinator had laughed as well, then pointed at me, and said, “She’s got a quick tongue. You sure you can handle her?”
“We sure as hell try,” Kane replied.
The coordinator led us to two motorcycles, both Harley-Davidsons. “When I announce your names, come out of the garage, and head into the racetrack,” he told us, then walked back toward the raceway.
Both men sat on the bikes. Without hesitating, Scorpina climbed on behind Kane, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. “I’m ready,” she announced cheerfully.
I just smiled at her, and climbed on behind Taker, clenching him tightly. “Well, what way is better to getting close to your man?” I commented, and Scorpina giggled.
We heard out names, and the men started the bikes. We headed out to the speedway, took a couple laps for the screaming fans. We gave a promo for the next pay-per-view, then set ourselves down for the long autograph session. Something kept probing at my mind, but I hadn’t a clue what it could be. The coordinator had just let the fans start coming up to the table, so I didn’t have much time to think about it.
Chapter 39-Scorpina
At the rally, the guy who arranged it kept looking at me oddly, as if he was flirting with me! He kept making kissy faces at me and blew kisses at DC. We looked unimpressed. When the crowd finally left, he approached us. "Ladies.... Are you looking for a good time?" he asked. DC and I looked at each other. "There is no such thing as a good time. Just bad timing" DC replied. The man looked outraged, yet he looked at DC oddly. "You look like your momma...Yeah, I remember her..." he smirked, and DC's head shot up, and I saw Taker's head slowly go up too. "Beg Pardon?" Taker asked. "Her and her momma are 100% sl...." Before he could finish, DC began to beat the crap out of him! Kane, Taker, and I just watched. "She can take care of herself" Taker smirked. We let DC get her anger out on the jerk for 10 minutes. By the time she was done, the guy ran in terror.
"I'm glade you didn't kill him,” I laughed. DC smiled. "I killed his male pride, that's good enough for me.... So, what do we do about supper?" she asked. "Let's go for pizza!" cheered Kane. "I'm up for that,” I said, and DC nodded. "Pizza it is!" Taker said. We left the rally, and went to a pizza place. We ordered 3 large pizzas: 2 for Kane and the other was for Taker, DC and I. DC watched as Kane consumed half a pizza in 3 minutes! "Whoa" she whispered. "That's nothing, you should see what happens when Vince tries to put him on a diet!" I laughed. "Did McMahon ever succeed?" she asked. "Never EEEEeeeever come between Kane and his food!" I saw Chris Jericho walk in. He mooched off some pizza. "Do you mind?" I yelled. "Sorry, got the munchies. So, what have you two been up to?" asked Jericho. "I got engaged" Kane said, and Chris laughed. "Good for you, is this girl blind? I mean if she loves you the way you are..." "Jericho, I'm his fiancé!" I yelled. Chris looked shocked. "I'll just shut up now" "Good idea" replied DC and Taker
Chapter 40-DC
After we finished our dinner, we headed back to the mansion via teleportation. It was late out, and the clouds had vanished, leaving the stars to fill the sky. We sat out on the porch; Scorpina sat in Kane’s lap on one of the chairs, and Taker and I sat side-by-side on the wooden porch swing, his arm around my shoulders. The breeze was soft and cool, and the stars twinkled above us.
For many minutes, we pointed constellations out to each other, then we fell silent. A memory had emerged into my mind’s eye as we sat in the silence. “When I was a kid, and not locked away somewhere, being beaten, or something along those lines, I’d go out to my little backyard, and stare at the stars, making up stories,” I told them. “The stories usually consisted of me being in grave danger and the stars would form into some great hero who’d rescue me, take me away on his horse, and make me his queen.” I smiled lopsidedly. “Crazy childish dreams. Stemmed from my troubles.”
“I don’t think that’s childish,” Scorpina replied. “I think all little girls have those dreams.”
My smile dimmed a little, but not completely. “Well, it’s late, and I’m pretty tired,” I said, standing up and stretching, my shirt coming over my body to show my stomach and my navel ring. “I think I’m gonna hit the sack.”
Taker stood up as well, and said, “I’ll walk you up.” We headed inside, leaving Scorpina and Kane alone, and went upstairs.
At the door to a spare room, I stopped and turned to Taker. “Thanks for everything, Taker,” I told him.
He smiled down at me. “You sure you’re gonna be all right alone?” he asked. “I could sit up here-”
“I’ll be fine,” I interrupted him, and grinned. “It’s not like I could disappear during the night. You forget, I don’t have powers like you do.” He took my hand tenderly, running his thumb over it. “We’re a wrong-fit, you know.”
“Opposites attract,” he stated simply, and bent down to kiss me gently. I returned the gesture, but when I felt that he wanted to go further, I had to break away. I saw the pained look on his face. “Good-night, DC.”
“’Night, Taker,” I replied, and turned to enter the room. Once I closed the door, I flopped myself down on the bed. “That was stupid of me.” I looked up at the ceiling, watching the moonlight play with the shadows. Something began to nag at me again, aggravating me. At first, I thought it had been about the guy from the rally, but that wasn’t it. Something kept probing at my mind, and it made me grow uneasy when I couldn’t figure it out.
Finally, I got myself up, showered, and changed into a nightshirt. As I folded myself up in the warm blankets, I wondered what Kane, Scorpina, and Taker were talking about right now, when I’m not around.
Chapter 41-Scorpina
"ARE YOU SERIOUS, SCORPINA!" Taker demanded. "It is. She has powers of her own Taker, very similar to yours. Taker, she is your soul mate,” I explained. Taker looked at Kane, and Kane nodded. "I had a gut feeling it was too" said Kane. Taker sat down on the couch, and sighed. "So she and I ARE meant to be! But...Why doesn't she reveal her powers? Is she even aware of them?" he asked. "She has no idea, but you and only you can unlock them,” Kane continued. "How?" "Well..." I paused for a moment; Taker got it then and there. "Oh...OH I see!" Taker said at last. "But, why?" he asked. "It is the way things are. Besides you know more about this magic stuff than me!" said Kane.
"What do I tell her? ‘DC guess what, you have powers of your very own! And you are my soul mate from now and the afterlife. But the only way to get them is if you sleep with me!’" Taker replied sarcastically. "Say that to her and you'll scare her out of this house!" I laughed. "Could you blame her?" Kane asked. Kane and I laughed. "Very funny you two! But seriously, what should I tell her?" Taker asked. "Well, I think you should wait on it for now. No point in rushing into things, Taker. Tell her when you get married" Kane suggested. "You're right little bro, I will...She just means so much to me...As Mark, I probably wouldn't be able to get used to the fact she has powers. But now that I'm back to normal, I love her the way she is, and no matter what she becomes" "That's a good boy Taker,” I laughed. I got up from Kane's lap. "I'm heading to bed. See you two in the morning" I called, and they nodded. Kane kissed me goodnight, as I went up the stairs. I went to my old room and fell asleep.
Chapter 42-DC
I awoke with a start. It was another nightmare, but it was different than the last. Taker, Kane, and Scorpina were ganging me up somewhere in a dark alley. After being brutally mauled, Taker threw me onto a previously unseen bed, and proceeded to rape me.
Involuntarily, I looked down at my nightshirt, and breathed a sigh of relief when I didn’t see blood on the material. I got myself out of bed, and trudged my way into the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I looked into the mirror, I was shocked to see a streak of dried blood coming from my nose, and another at the corner of my mouth. “Shit,” I said to myself, looking over my body to see if anything else was wrong, “I’ve got to learn how I’m doing this.”
I finish my morning routine after cleaning up, dressing in tight, stonewashed jeans and a baggy black T-shirt, and headed down the stairs. When I entered the kitchen, I realized no one else was up yet, and started a pot of coffee. A short time later, the coffee finished brewing, and I poured myself a cup.
Scorpina entered the kitchen, trying to cover a yawn. “Morning,” she said.
“Morning,” I responded. “I made some coffee.”
“That’s just what I need,” she told me, and got herself a cup of it. “Sleep well?”
I laughed lightly, and replied, “Not as much as I would’ve liked to. I had this wacked dream that you three were beating me in this dark ally, then Taker raped me.”
“Like that’d ever happen,” Scorpina returned with a laugh. “Taker may be a man, but he doesn’t force anything like that. He’s pretty patient.”
I looked into the cup I was holding with both hands, and continued, “The strange thing is, I woke up this morning, and there was streaks of dried blood coming from my nose and the corner of my mouth. Kinda like the last time, when I dreamt that I was two people, and I was trying to choke the second image of myself. I woke up with bruises everywhere.” I heard Scorpina gasp, and I looked up at her. “What?”
She shook her head, then smiled at me. “Nothing, DC,” she told me, but I knew she was lying. “It’s just that stuff like that is uncommon.”
I turned to look out the kitchen window, looking directly at the dragon water fountain. “I know, and it scares me,” I said, taking a sip of my coffee.
A pair of huge arms encircled my shoulders, and a set of warm lips pressed against my cheek. “Morning, beautiful,” he whispered into my ear.
“Morning,” I replied, quickly disentangled myself from his embrace, and headed out to the covered porch. I didn’t want to get so involved anymore, seeing as my relationship was becoming the center of my graphic and violent nightmares. ‘What will I do?’ I thought as I sat in the porch swing, wanting answers, but receiving none.
Chapter 43-Scorpina
I saw DC go out to the front porch. This is getting serious! Taker looked at me oddly. "Scorp, what's buggin' ya?" he asked. "DC had a nightmare. She dreams that someone is hitting her; she wakes up with the bruises. Taker, I think her powers are getting out of control" I explained. "But you said I was the one who wakes her sleeping powers" he said. "You will help her control them, but the powers are waking up. If something isn't done soon.... She may destroy herself!" I said in a concerned voice. Kane woke up. He was in his bathroom and looked out of it till he had his coffee. "Kane, we need to do something about DC" Taker said strictly.
"Why, what's going on?" Kane asked, and I explained the situation. Kane didn't seem to phased by it. "Well, what should we do?" Taker asked. Kane had another sip of his coffee. "You tell her everything she wants to know. She must know about her powers. Taker, go talk to her, and tell her" Kane said. Taker nodded. He left to talk to DC. "Do you think DC could be like me?" I asked. "Like you?" Kane asked "I mean a different being! I know she's not Scorpion, since I'm the only one in the world" I replied. Kane nodded. "I've heard of people who can make dreams come true, but she is similar to them, but bare none of their physical traits" Kane explained. "Than what am I?" DC asked. She stood in the doorway with Taker. "Kane, since you know so much, tell me...What am I? Am I human? Or something else!" DC cried. Kane looked away. "I don't know, the only one who may know.... is Vince" Kane whispered. DC went up stairs, and came 20 minutes later. "Who is taking me to see McMahon?!" she demanded. Kane and Taker stood in shock. "I'll go" I spoke up. DC looked at me. "Well then, let's go" I teleported DC to Vince's office at the WWF Headquarters. We walked in to see Vince. "Mr. McMahon.... Can we talk?" I asked.
Chapter 44-DC
When Taker came out and told me everything that the three had discussed, I was shocked to say the least. I was completely confused; the person I thought I was isn’t who I really was. I demanded to be taken to see Vince so could straighten it all out.
“Sure, Scorpina, what’s up?” Vince asked, then looked past her to see me. “DC, hello.” He gave Scorpina a puzzled look. “What’s going on? She looks pretty upset.”
“Upset?” I shouted. “Upset? I’d damn well say upset is an understatement!”
Scorpina gave me a concerned look, as if to say ‘Let me do that talking’. She turned back to Vince, and said, “Vince, strange things have been happening, and DC would like answers. Right now, she’s too upset to sit still, so I think I should be the one to explain to you.”
“What kinda strange things?” Vince inquired, motioning us to sit down.
We did, and Scorpina explained, “Well, what’s been happening lately is that DC’s had a few nightmares in which she almost destroys herself. Like the other night, after she walked off at the show, she dreamed she was two images of herself, one trying to choke the other out, and she ended up with handprints around her throat.”
Vince nodded, and replied, “I recall that, yes.”
“Well, last night, she had this vivid dream that Taker, Kane, and I had triple-teamed her in an ally, then Taker raped her,” Scorpina told him. “She woke up with dried blood streaking from her nose and the corner of her mouth.”
Vince looked from Scorpina to me, and said, “This is getting serious!” He shook his head. “At first, I thought she was lying about the whole thing, but then this…”
“I heard Scorpina and Kane say that I could be something other than what I had always thought I was, a human,” I said aloud, finally able to not scream. “I was shocked when I learned that I could have powers, and that they were waking up with dangerous intentions, but it would explain about the nightmares, and the nagging probing I get from time to time.”
“Probing?” Vince and Scorpina stated simultaneously.
“It’s like something nagging in my head, trying to get at my deepest secrets and stuff,” I relayed. “It’s like it wants to know everything about me, everything I think, all the time.”
Vince got up, and moved over to a big, heavy book, and opened it slowly, as if it’d disappear if he didn’t go gently. He flipped through many pages, and stopped every so often, and sighed “Um” just as much.
I couldn’t stand the suspense, and shouted, “Well, what is it? What am I?!”
Chapter 45-Scorpina
I saw Vince read his huge old book. The suspense was killing DC, and McMahon looked rather shocked. "So you're saying your mind is being probed or something?" Vince asked, and DC nodded. "Well, it says here. There is a demon who probes minds to learn everything about their victims. It feeds off of anger and loneliness. DC has a demon in her, that's causing the bruises and cut when she wakes up from a nightmare." "So, how is this demon slayed?" I asked. Vince looked at DC. "She must find a life partner and he and he alone can slay the demon in her. You must do this quick. If the demon gets you one more time DC, for sure it will kill you" Vince explained. DC went quiet. She sat down. "There is one person" she whispered. Vince looked confused.
"You have a life partner?" he asked. She nodded. "Undertaker, I'm his fiancé" She whispered, and Vince dropped his heavy book. "YOU AND TAKER? WHAT ABOUT KANE?" He demanded. "I'm Kane's fiancé Vince, but I'm more concerned with DC right now than anything else! What does Taker do in order to slay the demon?" I demanded
Chapter 46-DC
“Simple,” Vince states as he picks his old book back up, and places it in its spot, “Taker must do a mind walk to battle the demon, put it out of commission, and, should the demon get a hold of DC, to get her back.”
“What’s mind walk?” I inquired.
“It’s when he goes into your mind, and he can look into any ‘doors’ that are unlocked inside,” Scorpina explained.
“The demon should be hiding in one of those ‘doors’,” Vince added, then his face went stone serious. “There are some doors that are locked, though. You must unlock them before Taker mind walks. If the demon’s in a locked room, then there’s no chance.”
“How do I unlock those doors?” I next asked.
Both Vince and Scorpina gave each other looks of uneasiness, and I could tell I wasn’t gonna like the answer. “Well, you see-” Vince started, but I gasped when the answer dawned on me.
“Hell NO!” I shouted, standing in outrage. “NO! Not that, dammit!” My anger began to explode out of my control. “I’m suddenly getting a feeling that this was all a set-up.” I nodded to reassure myself. “Yeah, that’s what this is! I thought I could trust you all, but then you turn your backs on me. Well, thanks a lot for all the trouble.” I stormed out the door, and ran out of the building as fast as I could.
My anger was blinding me, as were my tears. Without thinking, I ran out into the middle of the street, and stopped when I saw a semi-truck headed straight for me. I closed my eyes, and cringed, holding my arms up in front of me, waiting for the impact to hit.
Chapter 47-Scorpina
When I saw DC run like that, I knew she would put herself in danger. I followed her close behind. I saw her run out in the middle of the street, and a truck was heading right for her. "NNNOOOO!" I yelled. I saw DC get pushed out of the way. The truck drove by, and DC was on the sidewalk. Taker had made the save. I ran to them. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Taker demanded. DC cried and hugged him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" she cried. We took her back to the mansion. Kane was waiting for us.
"DC, you look like a mess. What happened, got ran over by a truck?" laughed Kane. "You don't know the half of it!" Taker shot back. Taker carried DC in. She was cradled in his arms.
"DC, what's wrong?" Taker asked. "It's this demon inside of me Taker. You need to mind walk to kill it. But Vince said something about these.... locked doors" she cried. Taker looked shocked. He looked at me, and I nodded. "Well, what do you think I should do? I want to help you. But I also don't want to force you" he said. DC looked at Taker, and looked at me.
"It may be the only way DC. If I were you, I would agree. That demon nearly made you commit suicide! If it gets another chance, it will be the end of you!" I said in a very concerned voice. DC looked at Taker in the eyes, and whispered something I couldn't make out.
Chapter 48-DC
“I just can’t…” I whispered in his ear, trailing off as a new batch of tears stung my eyes. “Please put me down.” Taker placed me gently on my feet. I looked at him, then Scorpina and Kane in turn. “I thank you all for your concern, but I think I’d rather try to destroy the demon myself, no matter how difficult or impossible it’s said to be.”
I stood on tiptoe, placed a gentle kiss on Taker’s cheek, and headed for the stairs. I stopped midway up, and turned back to the three stunned people, who in the last few days have grown into my family. “Please, just let me try and conquer it myself. If I’m…killed in the process, it’s a good thing for everyone. I just want to let you all know how much I’ve appreciated your acceptance of me.” I smiled at Scorpina. “No matter how rough the start was.” I turned back around, and went up to my room.
As I entered, I made sure to lock the door, knowing they’d come up. I sat down heavily on my bed, rubbing my temples rhythmically. “Man, what am I gonna do?” I asked myself, closing my eyes. “How do I get inside my mind?”
Suddenly, as I closed my eyes, I appeared inside a dark room, with doors lining the space. I could see some had locks, and some didn’t. I walked cautiously toward the center, where a huge crystal ball sat on an intriguing little table, fit to hold the crystal in the cup area of it. I looked down at the crystal, and saw the most recent nightmare within it. “My Dreamspace,” I whispered, and looked around, bewildered. I had no idea where I got that term, and I’d never heard of it before. “Strange.”
“Strange indeed, DC,” came a creeping voice that sent shivers down my spine. I turned around, and spotted this ugly, tall creature leaning against a door in the shadows. “I’ve been waiting for so long to go face-to-face with someone.” He chuckled lowly. “You’re quite brave, trying to do this on your own. I thought you’d get your boy-toy to do it for you.”
“He’s not my ‘boy-toy’,” I replied coldly, “and I can defend myself against anything that comes crawling along.”
“Ah, my dear,” he said, coming out of the shadows toward me, “aren’t you just the strong, brave warrior.” He placed his clawed hand upon my jaw line. I jerked away, stepping back until I bumped into the crystal. "Such an innocent, little child."
“Trust me, mister, I'm far from innocent, and you don't wanna see how unlike a child I can be," I sneered at him. "You must be the demon ruining my life."
"If you like to put it that way, yes," he replied, bowing.
"Well, let's see what you've got," I said, moving into the open space, getting into the fighting stance.
"It's your deathbed," he retorted, and got into stance as well.
Chapter 49-Scorpina
Taker watched DC slowly go up the stairs, then he then turned away. "I have to help her, she needs my help. She has no idea on how to slay a demon!" Taker yelled. Kane put his hand on his shoulder.
"There is more to her than meets the eye dear brother" Kane replied. Taker pushed his hand off.
"She doesn't want my help since she's scared of me. Let's face it, she IS scared of me!" Taker shot back. "Why would she be? She loves you!" I replied. Taker decided to go up the stairs. "I'm going to help her slay this thing!" "Taker!" Kane yelled, but Kane and I could hear a door being unlocked. We followed Taker to DC's room. DC broke out into a cold sweat, and for the first time in a long time. Taker looked scared!
"DC! Let me help you!" Taker called, but she was unconscious. "I have to help her! You only get one shot at that demon. If she loses, she will die! Kane, I have to help her! Please, let me help her!" Taker cried. I saw Taker's tears fall on DC's face where the cuts were, and she started to glow! "Taker, I think you found another way to dream walk," I said. Taker went to her side, and touched her hand. He became unconscious. Kane and I looked on
"Will he be ok?" I asked. "If he and DC fail, I'm going in. I know much about inner demons" Kane replied. I hoped that they were ok.
Chapter 50-DC
I attacked first, trying to knock him off his feet, but he easily avoided it. As I turned back to him, he was atop me with punches, kicks, and all sorts of attacks. I could barely stand back up when he moved away. “You still want to fight?” he asked, then laughed harshly.
That laugh, the laugh I’ve heard so many times, fueled my anger, and I jumped up to my feet. “Don’t count me out just yet.” Instantly, I had him knocked down, dropping an arsenal of devastating moves on his body, weakening him up for a bad kill.
He got a second wind, and bucked me off, sending me flying into the wall, where I hit my head hard. As I slouched to the ground slowly, I heard the demon say, “Foolish child! Do you know what happens next?” When I did not answer nor move, he laughed an evil laugh. “Now, I kill you, and when I do, your body will shut down. See? You should’ve let your boy-toy do the job for you. He would’ve been a challenging match, much more than you have been. I think it’s time to go in for the kill.” I was in fear, considering that since I hit my head, I couldn’t move.
As I saw him step toward me, another voice called out, “Not if I can help it!” Before he could turn to see who it was, Taker flew at him, knocking him to the floor. They beat on each other for a minute or so before Taker knocked the demon’s head on the floor a few times. Thinking he had knocked him out, Taker came over and helped me to my feet. “You okay?”
“Okay?” I replied, snatching my hands away from his. “I asked you to let me do this on my own. Does no one listen anymore? Isn’t there such thing as-”
I was interrupted when the demon launched himself at me, sending us both to the floor. I was on my back, and stood above me, a long, sharp dagger grasped in both hands. He was about to bring it down, but Taker grabbed his hands and twisted the demon’s arms until he released the dagger. The demon’s fingertips began to glow, and something like lightening came from them, hitting Taker full-force. Taker flew backwards, and the demon went after him. Taker stared intently at the demon while he was down, then a beam of light went from Taker’s palm into the demon’s chest, making the demon fly backward. Taker took advantage, and they began to brawl.
At this time, I sat up, and looked around me for something to hit the demon with. I spotted the abandoned dagger, and grabbed it. I turned back to the battle between Taker and the demon. The demon had advantage at the time, and I ran over to them. Taking a deep breath, I buried the dagger hard into the demon’s back. He screamed a blood-curdling scream.
The demon arched back, threw his arms out, which knocked me and made me fly to the floor. When I opened my eyes again, the demon was just inches above me, the dagger reclaimed in his hands. The point of the dagger was just touching my throat when the demon was sent flying into the wall. I watched him slump to the floor after the impact. After a few seconds, the demon disappeared. I looked back in front of me, and there stood Taker, huffing from the battle. He helped me to my feet, and before I could think, we were back in my room, Kane and Scorpina watching nervously.
I sat up with a start, feeling the cold sweat my body had produced during the fight. Taker sat up next to me. “That looks like on hell of a battle,” Kane stated, coming toward us slowly, Scorpina following.
I crushed myself against Taker, tears coming down my face slowly, and said softly, “I’m so sorry, Taker. I didn’t know what I was doing. I almost got killed…just because I’m stupid, ignorant, untrusting, and insecure. I’m so sorry.”
I felt him put his arms around me tightly. “It’s all right,” Taker replied in a whisper. “We’re still here.”
Chapter 51-Scorpina
DC looked at us all confused to what had happened. "Taker...How did you get inside my body? I thought there was only one way, yet I'm still in my clothes!" she asked. Taker smiled. "I cried" he replied. DC looked at Kane and I, and we nodded. "His tears of love opened a portal to your mind. Taker has never cried like that all his life" Kane explained. Taker helped DC up. "The demon in dead; you can have a normal life now. Are you still gonna take me up on my offer?" Taker asked.
"Don't rush her Taker!" I shot back. "Sorry, I should know better" he laughed. Kane crossed his arms. "Mom always taught you to be patient" Kane smirked, and I hugged Kane. "That voice of reason in this mansion!" I laughed. "HELLO! ANYONE HOME!” We all went down stairs; there was Triple H, Chyna, and Paul Bearer. "Hey, why are you all here?" Taker asked. "We came to check on DC about this Demon thing. Can we help?" Chyna asked. "It's dead, thanks to Taker" DC replied. "Wonderful! In that case, who's up for a big meal?" Hunter asked. "I think we could all go for one Hemsley,” I laughed. Triple H went to the kitchen.
"Can Hunter cook?" DC asked. "Yes, he makes an awesome chili!" Taker said. We sat at the dinner table as Hunter cooked. "DC, will you take me up on my offer? Will you marry me?" he asked.
Chapter 52-DC
I looked around the table at the faces of friends, of family, and wondered how this had all happened as quickly as it did. Still, there was a lurking in the back of my mind. I turned to face Taker again; I knew he wanted to get engaged, but I needed answers first. “When we were inside my mind, what was it that you were doing?” I asked. “I mean, there were beams coming from the both of you. You did damage to the demon without even moving.”
Taker chuckled as he saw my evident avoidance of the initial subject. “That was only a fraction of the power I have,” he replied. “They were power beams that, when it hits something, does a considerable amount of damage. It depends on the type of opponent, too. The stronger the opponent, the higher resistance they have to the beams.”
I nodded, as if in understanding. “Oh, I see,” I stated, and stared down into my cup of coffee. *How am I gonna fit in here? I can’t even nor will I ever understand their simplest things.* I looked across the table to Scorpina and Kane, watched as they just sat there, drinking their drinks, and softly laughing while exchanging sly looks. *Bet they do that mind-reading thing, too. Someone like me, incapable of those powers, doesn’t belong with these immortal, superhumans.* Suddenly, like an uncontrollable impulse, I took Taker’s hand, and stood, leading him out to the porch for more privacy.
“What are we doing out here, DC?” he asked.
“Taker, can you take us to the garden?” I asked instead of answering him. He smiled, took my hand, and began to lead me into the backyard of the mansion. The mists rolled up, engulfing us.
We were at the gates in a matter of seconds. Taker unlocked the doors, and let me inside first. I looked around, noticing the bright tiger lilies again, and knelt to smell a blossom. “So what did you want to come here for?” Taker asked.
“To see the beauty, for one,” I answered, standing upright again. “Privacy for another.” I sat on a stone bench in front of one of the dragon water fountains, and Taker sat next to me. “I’m glad you went against my wishes, and came to help me today, with the demon and all.”
“You knew I was going to,” he replied, taking my hand in his larger, warm one, “or else you wouldn’t have locked your door.”
I took a deep breath of fresh, flower-scented air. “I know, and it was really stupid of me to think of doing it on my own,” I told him, then laughed at myself. “I’ve gotten so used to being alone in everything, and I just thought this was like everything else. Sometimes, I can be so stupid.” I looked Taker in the eyes, enjoying his piercing green stare. “Yes.”
“Yes what?” he asked, then the word dawned on him. “You will?”
“Of course I will!” I said, laughing at him.
Before I knew it, I found myself within Taker’s powerful, tattooed arms. “Thank you so much, DC!” he exclaimed, then kissed my lips passionately. “I swear, we’ll live so much better than you can imagine.” Again, he kissed me with as much passion a guy could possess.
“Taker, if you don’t stop that, I’m afraid we’ll never make it back,” I said. He laughed, and took my hand.
Chapter 53-Scorpina
Kane and I sat at the table as Triple H served the chili. Paul dug right in. "Shouldn't we wait for Taker and DC?" Kane asked. "Nah!" replied Paul. DC and Taker walked in hand in hand. "I sense an engaged couple!" I laughed. "You got that right! We're getting married!" DC said proudly. Kane laughed, and stood up. "Alright! A double wedding!" he cheered. I saw Triple H stick his head in and out of the room. He kept smiling when he did. I think he is up to something!
********
The next day, we were back to work. We arrived in Las Vegas when everyone was running around like nuts! "What is going on...." Before Taker could finish, Vince and the Rock pulled Kane and Taker away from DC and I! Chyna came up to us. "What the heck is going on?" I demanded. "Vince is letting you two get married tonight. It's bad luck to see the groom before the wedding!" she laughed. DC and I looked at each other in complete shock. Chyna took us to a locker room. All of the women were waiting for us! "It's about time!" said Stephanie McMahon. She sat DC and I down, and applied make up. Trish walked in with the dresses. DC had a purple dress. I had a red and black dress. "Ladies, we can dress ourselves, thanks!" yelled DC, and the women left. DC looked at her dress. "Has McMahon been planning this behind our backs?" she asked, and I nodded. "It is the usual McMahon thing to do,” I laughed. I went in one of the other rooms in the locker room and put the dress on; it looked nice. I walked back out, and I saw DC in her dress as well!
"Well, shall we get this over with?" DC asked, and I nodded. There was a knocking on the door. "May I come in?" called Vince. "Yes" DC and I replied. Vince walked in. He had a pleased look on his face when he saw the dresses. "My, you two are lovely. Are you ready?" he asked, and we nodded. "DC, I will give you away at the wedding. And Scorpina, Rock has volunteered to give you away." Vince explained. We left the locker room, and DC and I went to the opening of the ramp. We looked out to see an alter and a priest. Stone Cold, Triple H, and the Hardy Boys on one side. Trish, Stephanie, Chyna, and Debra were on the other side. "Best men and brides maids?" DC asked, and I nodded. Vince hooked his arm around DC's. "Ready?" he asked, and she nodded. Rock took mine; all 4 of us went down to the ring. Than Kane and Taker followed. Taker and Kane had their hair tied back, and really wore Tuxedos! Kane stood next to me, and Taker stood next to DC. The ceremony was short and sweet, and after, when the rings were put on our fingers, the priest pronounced us Man and Wife! After the kiss, the crowd cheered. We were in the locker room.
"That's a fun angle!" said DC. Vince walked in. "Great job everyone. So, when is the honeymoon?" he asked. "What are you taking about Vince?" asked Kane. Vince has an evil smirk on his face. "That was a real priest, these..." he pulled out 4 certificates, "are your marriage licenses" he laughed. We all looked at each other dumbfounded. "So.... We’re really married?" DC demanded. Vince nodded.
Chapter 54-DC
I was amazed. I wanted to scream at him for not consulting us about it first; I had waited all my life for something this grand to plan, and Vince beat me to it. I was about to explode, but I saw Vince with that mischievous grin on his lips, and my anger faded. “Vince, the next time you plan something like that, just let us know, okay?” I asked.
Vince nodded, and replied, “You bet.” He set the certificates on the table, and left the room.
“I think we’d better let you change now,” Kane said, standing up. Taker stood with him. “Knowing Vince, he’s got a huge reception planned somewhere.” They left the room, too.
Scorpina stood up, and went to where she had changed before to change back. “I wanted us to plan it ourselves,” she said from the other room.
“I did, too,” I replied, quickly changing into my usual jeans and T-shirt. “I mean, we wait an entire lifetime for this, and it’s already planned for us ahead of time. Just takes the fun outta things.” I smiled to myself as Scorpina walked back into the main part of the locker room. “Well, just the planning anyway. I don’t think Vince could’ve scripted better wedding kisses.”
Scorpina nodded with a sly look, and said, “Just wait till the honeymoon, girl. That’s where the real fun begins.”
I sat in the overstuffed armchair, and stared at my feet. “I don’t know if I can go through with that,” I said softly. “I mean, with my disruptive past, will Taker even want me like that?”
Scorpina sort of giggled at the question. “DC, if you haven’t noticed, that man can hardly contain himself when he’s around you. I’m kinda surprised that you’ve lasted this long without sex.”
I gave her a stern look, and replied, “Some people are old-fashioned. They wait till marriage to get into anything deeper.” I smiled deviously. “It was real hard, I’ll tell you that much!”
She sat on the sofa across from me. “And then afterwards, you’ll have all these powers to learn and control,” she said casually.
“Yeah, can’t wait!” I said, looking down at my hand. I brought my hand in front of my face, examining the wedding ring on my finger. “Here’s a question for you: are we Mrs. Jacobs and Mrs. Callaway, or are we Mrs. Kane and Mrs. Taker?”
Scorpina and I laughed together as the door opened, and Taker and Kane came through the opening, dressed in casual attire. “Ready to go?” Taker asked.
We stood, and replied in unison, “Yep!”
Chapter 55-Scorpina
Taker, Kane, DC, and I walked down the hall. Dean Malenko stared at DC oddly, and winked at her. "What are you smirking about short stuff!" she yelled. "If you want to cheat on Taker anytime, call me" he replied. Taker punched him in the face and we walked away. We went to the meeting room. And there was a party. "I knew it" Taker sighed. "Hey, it's the newly weds!" cheered X-Pac. We walked in. Vince was throwing the party. "I would like to congratulate you Kane and Taker, and welcome the new Mrs. Kane Bearer and Mrs. Undertaker Bearer." Vince announced. Everyone cheered. "Well, thanks you everyone...." Kane said, but the mood was spoiled when Tori showed up. I knew her past relationship with Kane. "Well, it looks like you found someone dumb enough to marry you!" she laughed. I was boiling over! "HOW DARE YOU, YOU NO GOOD BI..." "Enough Scorpina!" Kane said. DC looked at me in complete shock. "Girl, this is how you solve a problem..."
DC went up to her and knocked Tori off of her feet! The crowd was stunned. "Anyone else want some?" she asked. Everyone backed away. Vince continued the ceremony. "Well, are you going to plan a family?" Vince asked. "Wait, you are expecting us to have kids right off the bat?" DC demanded. "Why not? I mean having another Taker or Kane in the federation will be good business!" Vince smirked; DC and I felt outraged, as did Taker and Kane. "We need to go now,” Taker said. "Oh, you gonna rock the casaba?" laughed Chris Benoit. "It's none of your concern, or anyone's concern! McMahon, let us be!" Taker yelled, and Vince smiled. He planned something. I focused on his mind. 'Oh, I will still be involved in this, Deadman. Mark my words!' "And Vince" Kane called. "Yes?" he asked. "Keep you black magic to yourself!" Kane shot back. We teleported home to the mansion. "Well, it's night time.... Do you two want to...Join us tonight?" Kane asked. DC and I looked at each other, and thought about it.
Chapter 56-DC
I had to giggle. I couldn’t stop myself. “You know, you coulda outright said, ‘Hey, let me jump your bones!’” I said while laughing.
“I was just trying to be delicate,” Kane argued, crossing his arms. “I am considerate, despite what I do.”
Scorpina laughed with me, then said, “Well, we’ll have to see about that, Kane dear. I might have to fix that part.”
I nodded in agreement. “I don’t know about you all, but I’m not up and kinky for a foursome,” I told them with a sly smile toward Taker. “I think I’m gonna be kinda busy tonight, anyway.”
Taker took my hand, and led me to the stairs. “Good-night,” we called from the stairs.
“I’m sure it will be,” they returned with laughter.
When we reached the top of the staircase, Taker swept me up into his arms, and carried me into his room at the end of the hall. After we crossed the threshold, he set me gently on my feet, and kissed me full on the lips. I returned the kiss just as much, my knees nearly buckling under me.
I pulled back from Taker, and smiled deviously. Slowly, so as to torture him, I stripped out of my T-shirt and jeans, exposing my underwear. He raised an eyebrow, much like the Rock, and stated, “Purple.”
I looked down at my underwear; it was indeed purple. “Yeah, purple, so?” I replied.
Taker smiled back with mischief in his eyes. “I just thought black would be your color,” he responded. “Purple’s even better.”
“Well, come get a closer look, and you’ll see something even better than purple,” I said, sitting down on the bed, curling my finger toward him.
“Yes, ma’am,” he replied, and joined me on the huge bed.
Chapter 57-Scorpina
As Kane and I saw DC and Taker got upstairs, we followed, except we went in Kane's room. "Are you sure you're ready?" Kane asked, and I nodded. "Yes, I’m sure, but Kane, what do you think Vince is up to? I mean he wants us to have children right off the bat! What could he want?" I asked. "Vince does things to get his way. He had 2 ways of getting what he wants. The mortal way, and the sorcerer’s way. He prefers the sorcerer’s way, but we don't need to worry about that now. Let's just enjoy our honeymoon" Kane replied. He led me to the bed. He took his shirt off. I followed. You have to wonder, where this new life will take DC and I next?
